Well, after 10 fucking tries, I can't seem to steer my parachute right to land in the zone at the very beginning of the game.

Fuck this noise - I'm done. On amazon marketplace it goes.

Well, I'm sorry to hear that. Certainly for you, but mostly because I bought the PC version and it'll be unsellable when I start playing it. Still, I liked the demo so much I figued it was worth it. I should get it tomorrow and we'll see I guess.

I felt the same way a couple missions after that when you have to
Dying and then being sent back to the very beginning of the mission got really old really quick. But I finally got through it.

Still, I haven't been able to work up much enthusiasm for this game. I stopped playing shortly after that point.

You're parachuting wrong. I did the same thing my first few times. Once you get on land, it's awesome.

Go into a dive when you first start off from getting the guys PDA...then pop the chute, and don't pull up...just glide. I made the mistake of pulling up on the chute the first few times.

Dive to get momentum, and pulling the chute will get you to the spot.

Give it a chance, this game is so much fun. I spent an hour last night just riding on top of cars and sticking people with the other end of the grappling hook, so they would drag behind.

This game is great. It feels like a much better Mercenaries 2/Just Cause 1. Both had great ideas but slipped in execution. I got it from Gamefly, and in 30 mins i hit the keep it button.

I haven't cracked the seal on this one yet. Just started Metro 2033 and finished GOWIII & Killzone 2. I loved the demo and am looking forward to playing this. Glad to see the general feelings for this game echo the positive experience of the demo.

If you're heading for that "secret" island be sure to parachute from your plane or boat as you near the shore as I made the mistake of staying on too long and blew up thus forcing me to start over again.

And there must be a ton of download content coming as that island as well as some other spots I've found are full of structures and whatnot that you can't yet interact with.

As for the first mission I didn't even know you had to land in a particular spot as I just dove straight in and pulled the ripcord at the last moment.

I'm loving the game. For me it's GTA meets Red Faction. The game is unbelievably huge. I only rented but I'm guessing I'm going to be down for the full purchase this weekend.

As far as Steam DRM, I'm fine with that. I was planning on linking my copy to Steam anyway, so that's no biggie to me at all.

This will be the first dual-platform game I've bought on the PC instead of the console version. Normally I much prefer the 360 to the PC for games, but using the 360 ontroller with this on the PC was a breeze. Besides, as visitors to the XBLA thread have seen, I could probably use a game I can still play while my wife watches crap like Property Virgins on the TV.
