It was previously thought that the PC version of Alan Wake would be worked on after the release of its Xbox 360 version in May, but Microsoft has shattered hopes by confirming to Strategy Informer that Alan Wake will no longer be coming to PC.
"Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience "Alan Wake" was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive. Both Microsoft and Remedy have long histories in PC game development. This decision was about matching this specific game to the right platform." said a Microsoft spokesperson.
In july last year Markus Maki, head of development, said that they're focusing all their efforts on the 360 version, but will be making comments in regards to the PC at a later date. Although it now looks like this is confirmed as an Xbox 360 exclusive.

That is a huge pile of BS. Thinking that you have to sit in front of a small monitor at a desk to play PC games is so 1990s.

I'm just glad they made that decision for me and for my benefit. It would have sucked if I'd enjoyed the game at my PC and found out later I'd made the wrong choice.

Re: Alan Wake
That is a load of BS. There are plenty of people who use large monitors to game on PC. Heck, I'm reading this thread on my 52" LCD TV. I'd play Alan Wake the same way.

Re: Alan Wake
That's actually a rather amusing observation.

So far, so good!
The biggest downside is so far is some screen tearing. But the game is paced very well, at least in the opening episode. I'm only allowed to talk about Episode 1, and even then there's a list of things I can't talk about (dialog, plot, licensed songs, etc) - so i'll have something written up by the end of the weekend I imagine.

Re: Alan Wake
I hope it becomes a big seller. The production quality is pretty nice, and the general creepy feeling you get when reading a Stephen King story is throughout the game so far. As most King stories are 'something fucked up happening to a normal person for no reason' it seems like that's the case here. Which I enjoy.

Re: Alan Wake
From what you've seen so far, will there be much/any replayability? Or is it pretty much a one shot through the story and that's it?
Like, from the achievements... Multiple endings, choices, paths, difficulties, etc. AFAICT, that information hasn't been published.
