It's actually a test to find the best virtual pitcher for the Universe Series on Ceti Alpha III.

Interesting, but still not enough to surpass The Show 10.

I like the last line....how many people will do this:
There's one more catch in collecting that $1 million prize. It has to be verified by noted video games record keeper Twin Galaxies and order for that to happened the whole perfect game has to be recorded, Argent said.

It would be hilarious if they programmed the game to simply not allow a perfect game. Good way to get some free publicity, and hard to verify that they actually cheated.

I would program it so that you could get a perfect game until the last pitch, then the batter would get Mr. Fantastic arms and magically hit it every time.

Haha. Nice try. I'm still not playing that POS game.
The Show gets my money from now on.

They will probably have the game glitch out before the end. Despite liking some things about this series I learned quickly that it is a glitch fest.

I'm surprised it doesn't mention a difficulty level, I assume you have to play on the hardest difficulty.

2K10 was supposed to have been given a complete overhaul over the last version, so it potentially could be much improved.

I thought this belonged in the Sports forum cause I thought it was for a baseball player. This will only cause chaos. How about instead of a $1 million dollar they get their own achievement? That seems more doable.

Well, it happened on the FIRST day of competition. Wow!
Wade McGilberry luckiest (and richest) MLB 2K10 player ever
by Griffin McElroy { May 5th 2010 at 11:00AM }
When 24-year-old Wade McGilberry of Semmes, Alabama was less than 24 years old, his friends and loved ones probably gave him a hard time about his penchant for virtual baseball. "Wade," they would say, "why don't you go play real baseball? Heck, with a name like 'Wade McGilberry,' you're already well on your way to the MLB Hall of Fame." Little do they know, Wade wasn't just wasting his time. He was training.
On the very first day of the MLB 2K10 Perfect Game Competition, McGilberry managed to take down 27 in-game hitters without letting one of them place their cleated toe upon first base. For this accomplishment, McGilberry won the competition and its $1,000,000 prize, reaffirming his decision to skip all of his high school formal dances to put a few more hours into Ken Griffey, Jr.'s Slugfest. A wise decision indeed, sir.

Crazy, I wonder if anybody else did it early on, sent in their disc, and were fully expecting to win?

Uh huh. Because nobody could ever rig one of those games.

There should have been more of a catch to the contest than just the first perfect game. Seems to me Halladay could throw a perfect game against the Pirates at least seven times out of ten.
Make it the first perfect game against the '27 Yankees thrown by Russ Ortiz. Now you've got yourself a competition.

That's awesome, but I don't think of it as being that difficult. Over the last few years of playing baseball games, more often than not I either absolutely devastate the computer, or vice versa. There are times where I have no-hit into the 8th inning and will intentionally pitch down the middle or misplay an easy out, in the name of trying to get a computer rally going. Lopsided wins are awesome in real baseball, but get boring quick in a video game.
