Do we know if the voice communications upgrade will be part of the dashboard upgrade, or something separate and later?

It's part of the dash upgrade.

Follow up question in regards to putting my HD on another machine this weekend, will the dash update fuck that up?

Thanks for letting us know.

That's a good question... I think there is/was a separate section on internal memory for things like the OS and that would be tied to the console ID. In that case, the HDD shouldn't be affected by that and it *shouldn't* matter.

I would expect that as long as dashboard updates are doled out by console ID AND HDD/MUs are not required for the 360 to function, then you should be fine.

I make no guarantee, however.

This is my thinking as well, but I guess I'll find out.

Is it the same or similar to the search that can be performed with the PS3 streaming disc?

Haven't done any searching with the ps3 disc. I just saw in the giantbomb thing. When you start typing in letters, it dynamically narrows down your search. They got to Running Man by just typing "run" and there it was.

Yes, it's the same as other NF-capable devices.

Thanks. I personally am most thrilled for the PS3 to go disc-less. We do stream on our 360 in the bedroom currently though.

^PS3 netflix is discless in Canada. Still waiting on any Netflix support on the 360 up here, too, unfortunately.

No.

Last year I upgraded early in one of my consoles, I was in the preview. And I used to switch the hard drive between my Elite and Arcade consoles. The Elite console had the new firmware and the Arcade was still with the old firmware. I was able to use the hard drive in both of them all that time they were with different interfaces.

But, of course, that was last year, so YMMV.

I got an email a little while ago that I was not going to make it into the beta dashboard update. Something about so many people getting in and they can't send the update to everyone. Kinda shitty that they'd say accepted right away and then send you an email later saying "Just kidding". Fuckers.

Yes, Xbox, I'm okay with downloading a 43mb app for ESPN.

Oh, are you done after a minute or so? Sweet, let's launch that thing.

What's this, Xbox? An update is required for this app to run? Sure, I'll take it.

Hold on a second... The update is also 43mb in size? WTF did I just download then?

Doesn't matter, I need it. I do think it's awesome that this second download is taking 5 times as long as the first. That's appropriate.

I think Sony should give Microsoft an Indian rope burn for stealing the PSN network code. Seriously, this update is still going. Looks to be about 95% now.

An that's why I didn't make a big deal about it, and simply removed it. Like I said in the PM to you, people have been suspended for other comments that also weren't meant to be racist.
