It's still unclear if the free stuff available on the web (i.e. not the back-catalog subscription stuff) will still be free on the 360/iPad/etc.

C'mon, have a heart. They only made $100 million in revenue last year. They have to do something to stay in business.

If I buy a 250GB hard drive for my currently-120GB Elite, can I take that 120GB HD and snap it right on to my currently-0GB Arcade model?

Here's another simple dashboard and/or xbox.com addition, Microsoft.
How about a feature where I can see a list of my friends who have played a certain game. That's it. Say I'm looking at the game on my dashboard, just a way to see a list of people I know that are known to have played it. I can get opinions, schedule play dates, or even know who to send invites to. Wanna be super-community-driven? Extend the search to friends-of-friends. What a simple, easy way to meet new people and all the tools are already there, it's just taking the effort away from me.
Bonus would be to show the achievement progress on that list for bragging rights.

I'd like the ability to use the L/R triggers to scroll to the end (or beginning) of the played games list on the dash. The bumpers take too long.

well crap.. the shipping info on my replacement xbox just updated
says it came from memphis tennessee.. and that delivery has been rescheduled for tomorrow.. they attempted to deliver today, but i was still traveling and noone was here to sign
so it would have been 1 week even, if i had been here to sign

Another essential for the next dashboard update: controller reassignment. Just have the console "forget" the current assignments and reassign upon reconnect.
As I sit here having played GD:RB with my guitar in position 1 and my controller on position 2 for vocals and I'm ready to switch games but don't want to deal with signing in/out or turning the console off and on.

Another thing I want is time tracking. An overall dash feature that would track how much time you play every game, instead of relying on each and every developer to do it in game.

Just in from research team (NPD): Halo 3 has outsold Resistance 1 + 2, Uncharted 1+2, Killzone 2 and God of War III COMBINED....wow

Sure, but what about all the Wal-Mart shoppers that buy games for their blu-ray player?

I remember when Game Room was just a ideal and Major Nelson interviewed that dude the week before launch, he said the whole concept of GR spawned from roundtable discussions about Dreamcast ports. Until now I assumed that meant they'd be integrated in there. Now I'm glad that's not the case and I welcome them as full XBLA/PSN ports.
