Well it IS cheaper than their own 320GB drive (MSRP, that is...)
But yeah... of course it's overpriced. It's... proprietary!

I just finally gave in and bought a 320GB about a month ago...for the same price the 500GB is now going to be.

My 360 has stopped outputting via HDMI. It's an old fat system. Not sure if it's worth sending it to Microsoft to fix or just buying a refurbed updated console.

New blue 360 bundle coming to Walmart next month. Includes 500GB HD, CODs Black Ops 2 and Ghosts. $250.

Makes sense. Since you're paying for Xbox Live, you get locked in to the ecosystem, which makes even recent purchases of a 360 more likely to result in a purchase for an Xbox One later.

But if someone's looking at next-gen I don't see how they could pass up the PS4/Destiny bundle for the X1/Blops. A newer game and $50 less.

New bundles, all $250
http://news.xbox.com/2014/09/xbox-36...-value-bundles
360 + 500GB + Controller + Ghosts + BLOPS2
Same as above, but Walmart exclusive, and blue-ish.
The bundle no one wants.
I think I might throw down for the first one. I already own Ghosts, but I've been meaning to replace my dying Elite for ages now. Even small indie games are crashing on me.

I'm looking into buying an adapter that will allow my PS Gold headset to work with my 360. An adapter like this will let it plug into the controller, correct?

Xbox Live Games with Gold for October 2014
Coming up in October, Xbox Live Gold members can look forward to three new free games on Xbox One and Xbox 360. Chariot, the newest ID@Xbox game from Canadian developers Frima, will debut on Xbox One as a free download, replacing September Xbox One Games with Gold title Super Time Force (if you haven’t already downloaded it, now would be a good time).
On Xbox 360, starting Wednesday, October 1st, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (normally US $19.99) will be free for Xbox Live Gold members through October 15th.
Then on October 16th, Xbox Live Gold Members can download Darksiders II (normally US $49.99) for free through October 31st.

Two great games. BF:BC2 is pretty old, but giving it away free might stimulate the online community. It's an insanely fun game
I think Darksiders 2 is one of the sneaky-great games of this generation. Mixes Prince-of-Persia gameplay with Zelda-like dungeons. Lots of fun and TONS of content.

Darksiders 2 was awesome. What I loved the most as the WOW style animation and combat system.
Shame we'll never get DS3

I wouldn't say that. Somebody bought the rights, didn't they?

It's a completely different sort of game. It's looser, less intense. Closer in feel to Far Cry than Call of Duty. I really liked it, but it's been 4-5 years since I've played it and the memory is fading a bit.

Wasn't sure if this deserved its own thread, but GTA: San Andreas re-release is coming to 360.
No details on date or pricing just yet.
The graphics have been improved, supporting 720p resolution, improved draw distances, and as the achievement list leak already revealed, full achievement support.
