enter code 5M9G1A and your email it's down right now because people have been raping it for codes. in fact, if you look in the for sale section, someone got a bunch for free and sold them off. thanks to cag. edit to add: this is for ONE (per email address, whoops) free month of gold membership on your 360. |

Can you still download trailers on Live? I added Zune and for whatever reason, I can't figure out how to download any trailers now. The only option to view any movie related content is through Zune and it only lets you preview stuff. I see no download option.

You can WATCH trailers...but I don't think you can download them anymore.

Buy.com's eBay outlet has 12-month cards for $29.99. Better go before they sell out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=350326548706

I can't access ebay from work and it was quite the chore to buy this through my iPhone (you can't do instant purchases on the app and can't on the mobile website either).
Finally got it though. :) |

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Anyone know if the XBOX 360 DVD remote will control movie functions watching an "instant movie" from Netflix?
So I would be able to watch the Netflix movie and control the functions with the remote rather than the game controller. My ideal scenario would be to use my MX-500 Master remote, but I cannot find a command that makes it work, so my second thought would be to buy the 360 remote used and learn the functions into the MX-500. Thanks for any help. |

Thanks for any help. Your plan to teach the remote would work, but you should really think about picking up a Harmony remote instead. There's a pretty good one at Costco for about $70 that will CHANGE YOUR LIFE! |

The XBOX uses infared commands so you should be able to program any remote to control it. I've programmed an Mx-450 to control an xbox so I don't see why the 500 wouldn't.
any help would be appreciated. |

do you remember how, what code, device button used, etc? i used the MX-500 "find a code" and cycled through codes labeled for DVD, AUX, and SAT and none of them operated the 360.
any help would be appreciated. |

Glad everything worked out. I used AUX and found a code for microsoft and it worked in at least powering on the xbox 360. It didn't specifically say xbox 360 though and I didn't test all the functions.

Some info and video of the Microsoft "Game Room"
http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/15/m...n-our-hands-o/ Microsoft showed off its new retro-tastic Game Room UI for Xbox 360 in playable form at GDC last week. While the "make a virtual representation of a gaming space" idea might seem ripped straight from Sony's Home, there aren't really any actual similarities -- outside of the fact they're both in 3D, at least. You dive disembodied through the different game rooms pretty intuitively, with different company collections on the bottom "level" of the mall-like UI, and upper levels set aside for your own collections of the games. Unfortunately, once you actually select an arcade cabinet, the UI gets rather overly complex, with all sorts of modes you can play the game in, sorts of scores to be tracked and an indecipherable menu tree that makes it a real chore to exit a game. |

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I have an extra 20gb 360 since I got an Elite a couple months ago, was going to keep it around, but might sell it now - it's still under the 3-year RROD warranty until August, and has been replaced once because of the RROD - is it considered a refurb or used unit (just looking at eBay)? And what needs to be done once it is sold, as far as making sure all my info is off of it (just a format of the HD? I forget if any personal info is saved internally...) and transferring the serial # to the buyer?
Where would you recommend trying to get rid of it, other than eBay? |

Xbox 360 'Valhalla' motherboard leaked on Chinese forum?
Perhaps this is the "Valhalla" revision that we've all been waiting for? On a related note, Microsoft is currently hiring a Motherboard Design Engineer for the Xbox 360 Console Development team, with such saucy tasks as "specifying, designing, implementing and verifying the mother-board and other various sub-system boards that make up the XBOX 360 product line." Spoiler:
Hey if they are going to redo the whole form factor of the 360 now is a good time to add Blu-Ray. |
