Depends on how long you spend exploring, backtracking to previous areas as you get new items and powers, etc. It took me around 20 hours, but I do a lot of the above and try to find everything along the way. It could probably be done in 15 hours or less.

Finished yesterday. Freaking awesome game. Honestly I don't think I can have more fun with GOW3 when it hits. Sure GOW3 will have the fighting down, but i doubt it will have the same Zeldaesque gameplay that this one had with the dungeon crawls. That was more fun than the fighting IMO.

Only 2010 release I've played, which is why it's my front-runner. :lol:

Kidding aside, while I have no doubt there will be better games before December 31, it is a very good game.

Hopefully we'll see the PS3 version at a similar price soon. I can't imagine it's selling all that well right after the holidays.

Just saw that Newegg price this morning. Dammit, I paid $54.99 just one week ago from Amazon.

Some day I will learn to wait.

I watched the IGN and Totally Rad Show reviews the other day. Certainly seems like my type of game. I'm in for $40. :up:

So yeah, I started a new game on Apocalyptic difficulty wearing the Abyssal Armor. It's easier than my first playthrough on Easy. Every couple of hits you land (with any weapon) regenerates some health.

Started this over the weekend. It's fun for sure. But I really have to laugh at how blatantly it rips off Zelda. Dungeon has a map and compass, you essentially get a boomerang, looks like a hookshot is coming up for me. Just strikes me funny.

Keep playing. In addition to ripping off Zelda and God of War, there's another blatant rip-off coming with one of the secondary weapons.

(Don't get me wrong -- I still love this game. But it's definitely not inventing anything new).

Arguably it is by putting all those elements together.....and on top of it, doing it well.

My knee jerk reaction was to pin it down as too much Zelda after the first dungeon, but I've played a few more sections since then and I actually find it to be that at its base, but doing a lot of other tweaks here and there as well. I think it's a really solid game (outside of all the screen tearing on the 360 :( )and a promising option for a franchise.

I am finally back to this one and started again after knocking out The Saboteur. I have to say that I'm having less fun with it now than when I played it right after purchase. It has gotten real old the encountering of hordes of demons and fat, fiery guys and having a hack and slash battle with them until they are gone and moving on to the next group. Plus, I hate grinding kills to rack up orbs for improving my abilities. I would have rather them had them either hidden or earned by completing parts of the game.

That's what I've had to do as well. The smelly dudes that spit the green goo are just as bad. You have to wack them with the crossblade 100x just to slow em' down.

The game is starting to get a little boring for me. It is still fun, just not as much fun as I thought it was going to be. For one thing I wish I had started on the highest difficulty. Normal is just not hard at all once you get a grasp, and I am no expert at games. With the flame enhancement, and my main blade at level 3, most enemies die fast, even the big boys. I am happy I picked it up as part of the gamestop deal, but I would have been disappointed if I paid full price.

Oh and the code that comes with the game????? a new level of stupid on their part in an effort to keep people from selling their game back to gamestop right away. I bet a lot of people are going to be upset with what it ends up being. Maybe stupid is not the right word, because by reading the posts at the official site, it sounds like a lot of people are waiting to see what this "amazing" gift will be. There are even people thinking it will be an actual figurine they will mail to you. LOL.

Best Buy has (had?) a deal where if you're a Gamers club member they will send you a figurine when you buy the game from them.

I just started it on the 360 and the screen tearing is unreal. It almost makes the game unplayable. Anyone know why it looks so poorly on the 360 but is outstanding on the PS3?

I remember it really bugging me at the beginning but as I continued to play either I got use to it or it wasn't as widespread. It sucked but nothing about it made it unplayable for me personally.

Strange -- I was expecting something horrific based on the reviews, but I noticed very little screen tearing on the 360. There clearly was some here and there, but I would peg it at maybe 5-10 minutes of the 20-or-so hours I played the game.
