Steam Holiday Sale 2009 (up to 80% off, PC Games)

Some pretty solid deals on numerous "older" games, including:

Defense Grid: The Awakening - $2.49
Grand Theft Auto 4 - $7.49
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - $1.99
Operation Flashpoint - $19.99

Til the 3rd:
The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut - $13.59 (Normally $39.99)
Far Cry 2: Fortune's Edition - $9.99
Tropico 3 - $19.99
Trine - $7.99
Wallace and Gromit (eps 1 - 4) - $10.79
Serious Sam HD - $14.99
Torchlight - $9.99
Zeno Clash - $7.49
The Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena - $6.79

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee / Exodus Pack - $2.49
Indigo Prophecy - $3.39
Overlord - $2.99
Overlord II - $14.99
Prince of Persia Pack (Sands, Warrior, Thrones, and the newer one) $22.49
Puzzle Quest - $4.99
Puzzle Quest: Galactrix - $9.99
King's Quest Collection - $4.99
Tales of Monkey Island Complete - $24.84
Telltale Games "Complete" (includes Monkey Island, Wallace and Gromit, Strongbad S1, Sam and Max Season 1 and 2, and Bone) - $49.99
Borderlands - $33.49
BioShock - $13.39
Eidos Collection (Batman: Arkham Asylum, Battlestations Midway & Pacific, Deus Ex, Deus Ex 2, Hitman 1 - 3, Infernal, Just Cause, Kane and Lynch, Project Snowblind, Mini Ninjas, Tomb Raider Legend & Underworld, Thief Deadly Shadows, Rogue Trooper, and some others) - $49.99
The Orange Box - $22.49
World of Goo - $4.99
and a lot, lot more...

I'm actually rebuying a few games I have in storage just to have them available in Steam ... digital distribution for PC games just kind of works.

Picked up S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for $1.99. My copy is in storage and I never got around to playing it so for that price, why not. I'll probably pick up the Unreal Pack for $13.49 and the Elder Scrolls Oblivion Deluxe with all the DLC packs for $26.49.

Looks like i will be dropping some cash on Steam this evening.

I have been wanted the newer Chessmaster game and it is half off so i will snag that. Most likely i will pick up Indigo Prophecy and the Wallace and Gromit set as well.

The Witcher is also tempting me...

Me being lazy here (have to get back to work): What is S.T.A.L.K.E.R.? What sort of game is it? Is it any good??

I got Defense Grid and STALKER last night. Today I'm gonna get Indigo Prophecy (already played through and sold the PS2 version a while back) and Kings Quest Collection!

What all is in the King's Quest Collection? (I ask because i am behind work filters and can't hit up Steam )

Also, has anyone played the Wallace and Gromit stuff on Steam? I know the 360 version supposedly had some weird slow-down and chugging along. Is the Steam version better streamlined?

KQ:C is the collection with King's Quest I - VII (not VIII, which is better off forgotten anyhow). Nothing else.

Damn. I may have to get that as well.

My wife has discovered a love for hidden object games and adventure games. Unfortunately the point-and-click adventure era is kind of over so going back and snagging these old games i played under the guise of a gift for her is perfect. She enjoys the games, i get to replay them, and i get good husband points.

It's an FPS-RPG hybrid that takes place after a second explosion occurs in the Chernobyl area. The reviews on it are generally pretty good and the RPG elements may turn off some folks but for $1.99 it's a steal.

Thanks. My computer is pretty old and limited in HDD capacity. I'll pass because thanks to Target's clearance section, I'm up to my armpits in mediocre FPS games for the 360 and PS3 already.

I picked up a few games, but I'm having trouble downloading them since their servers are too busy. I guess that's a good problem for them to have.

weak Deals today. ID Superpack sounds good, but to me those older FPS arent fun anymore, To me playing them today wrecks the great memories I have of them.

My thoughts as well.

I picked up the Railroad Tycoon pack (II, III and Railroads!) for about $16.

Cogs looks like Pipe Dream (or the Bioshock hacking game) crossed with a tile slide puzzle. There's a demo available.

Thanks - definitely not interested then.

The tile-slide puzzle on Dragon Age has me almost ready to smash a controller and that is just one puzzle.

Wound up grabbing:

Torchlight
Braid
Lucas Arts Adventure Pack
King's Quest Collection
Space Quest Collection
The Witcher: Director's Cut
Star Wars: KOTOR
and a few others...

I love these kinds of sales.

Also, it isn't the best deal in the world, but if anyone is interested in Spore, Direct2Drive has it on sale for $19.99 today.
