Yeah, there are no Playstation-exclusive tables any more.

Table packs 19 & 20 came out today for Pinball Arcade on PS3 & Vita. The update seems to have completely broken Whitewater on PS3, it just freezes on the menu once you select it.

I can't wait for the Football table. That's my kind of football! Awesome that if has different skins depending which team you choose. Mine, of course will be adorned with Liverpool FC.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Zen does great tables. I am a little concerned about the wording of that Cross Buy details haven't been worked out yet. I just assumed they'd do the same cross buy deal going forward (buy on the PS3, get Vita and PS4 versions free), but maybe they're trying to get some more money out of it, TPA-style.

I'm also totally baffled as to why the Dr Strange table, which was supposed to be released on the PS4 along with the PS3 version in mid December is still MIA at the end of January. It better get here soon (I know, they always blame Sony, but I'm beginning to question that).

Yup, it sure does! Thanks FarSight!

Man, there are some crappy tables with these last few packs. I like the Pool themed one, but so e of those older tables like their El Dorado table are so boring and ugly. I almost don't want to pay for the PS4 upgrade for S2, but I probably still will since I like Whitewater and Champions pub so much. But seriously, some real crap showed up in S2.

Bad news, Orlando's GameWarp pinball show this summer is canceled.

Probably also bad news, Farsight says they're going to make original tables now.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

That article also says they purchased the rights to Williams and Goetleib tables, when in fact they also own the rights to Bally and Stern tables. Grain of salt.

I'm more interested in seeing if Far Sight will ever come through with their "Pinball After Dark" plan to bring existing tables that wouldn't meet TPA's "E10" rating (like Playboy) to video game consoles. Don't we need to save 70s softcore porn pinball for the next generation??

GameWarp and SPF merged a few months back. There'll only be one show but it'll be even bigger than either one was before.

Super League Football Releasing Today for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita

+ Posted by Bobby Loertscher // Community Manager, Zen Studios
Zen Pinball 2: Super League Football

So who’s up for some football (I mean soccer… whatever) PINBALL competition? Well even if you’re not into football, there is an awesome new pinball table to play, and depending on your club affinity (or lack thereof), you should definitely get involved in this. Super League Football is releasing today for Zen Pinball 2 on PlayStation Store for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita!

If you’re a fan of Arsenal, Liverpool FC, Barcelona, Real Madrid C.F., A.C. Milan, Juventus Football Club or A.S. Roma, then the choice is simple — you better support your team! For the rest of you who don’t have a club to cheer for, we invite you to join Zen Studios F.C. This team of game devs is ready to take it to the pinball playfield against these ‘other guys.’

Who are those guys? THOSE ARE ZEN STUDIOS DEVS! But let’s get serious – what do you get for your hard-earned $2.99? When you download Super League Football you will get to pick a single team. Please note: YOU DO NOT GET ALL TEAMS. That’s right, you have to pick one! We can’t have you cheering for everyone! That’d be blasphemous, right? Once you pick a club, you can start playing in league play, win all sorts of Trophies, and help out your team on the global leaderboards.

A few words on Cross Buy: If you buy this on PS3 or Vita, you are Cross Buy entitled, and you can also import to PS4 (in case you do not yet have a PS4). If you buy this on PS4, you will not get any Cross Buy entitlements (I know this sounds unfair but it’s just the way it is for now). If you have questions, please leave a comment and I will be happy to clarify.

I know many of you are wondering if there will be more teams added. We are working on it – since the announcement there have been other clubs knocking on the door to get involved. It’s great that there is interest! Let’s see how this little experiment goes and we’ll decide where we go from here. Feel free to let us know if your team isn’t on the roster!

If you want to see the table in action, be sure to check out the table trailer on the PlayStation YouTube Channel.

I’ll be representing Zen Studios F.C. and I hope the rest of you are ready to bring your game, so… Game ON! Or, whatever those sporty types like to yell at each other. COME AT ME, BRO.

___________________________

Personally, I'm pretty disappointed you have to pick just one club. That certainly wasn't implied in the initial announcement.

Man, that artwork (especially with the dev's faces) looks so amateurish. Art wise it just doesn't look up to par with the rest of Zen's tables. Hopefully it's at least fun. I like the flippers in the outlanes, that's a really neat idea.

I asked a question on the PS Blog and got a reply from Zen:

I’m a little confused about picking a team : Do you have the option to pick one team for the PS3, another for the Vita and yet another for the PS4? Do you have to decide which team before you purchase the game or once you start playing?

The first time you open up the DLC after you download it, you’ll pick your team. If you are doing Cross Buy, it will only import the team you originally picked, so you can’t do different teams for different platforms unless you pay to unlock more teams.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

...and it turns out she's wrong. Every single team has it's own DLC table and you have to pick which one to purchase. Yeah, this isn't at all confusing to the consumer.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Yikes. Is that really easier than packaging all the assets into a single release and letting the user pick or, god forbid, even switch between them? That's some shady licensing with the different FCs, if they even are individual.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Well, I bought the Football Super league table. Got the FC Barcelona because it's my Nurse Practitioner's favorite team (she's super-into soccer and loves that team). I just got a chance to play a game tonight before bed. It's a really weird table. They seem to have tons of instructions on the display in tiny type I'd probably have a hard time reading even if I wasn't playing pinball at that moment. The ball feels very different -- much lighter and harder to hit with much force. I have to assume that's intentional to represent a soccer ball rather than a pinball. It sure is weird feeling though. The flipper in the outlanes is kind of cool : the ball will get stuck there for a second and you have only one shot to save it before it rolls out of play -- the closest thing to actual goalkeeping in the game. I don't know though. I really don't love it. I buy every table so I didn't worry too much about spending $2.99 on three console's worth of DLC. If you're a little pickier than I, I'd suggest trying the free demo before picking up this table, regardless of which football club you actually pick.

Star Wars Pinball: Four New Tables This Spring

+ Posted by Bobby Loertscher on Mar 25, 2014 // Community Manager, Zen Studios

“Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good pinball blaster at your side, kid”

Star Wars Pinball is expanding! Four (yes, four) new tables are on their way to PS4, PS3, and PS Vita later this spring. Tables include Han Solo, Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, Star Wars Pinball: Droids, and Star Wars Pinball: Masters of the Force.

Today we are sharing a few details about the table dedicated to Han Solo, packed with his most memorable lines and gadgets — and of course his fuzzball sidekick, Chewbacca.

<object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/gOHZN1jOKp0?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/gOHZN1jOKp0?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

You can’t get away from Han Solo’s most memorable one-liners in this table; we’ve managed to include just about every one of them. From barking orders at Chewbacca to fix the hyperdrive malfunction, to leading the mission to destroy the Death Star, all of your favorite Han Solo moments are played out as you set your sights on the highest score in the Universe.

Of course, the big question on your mind is “Why are there four tables in this pack, when there were just three in previous packs?” That’s a good question! We promised everyone 10 tables, and so far we have done six, which left four to go – and we thought it would be easier to just release all four at the same time. Does that math make sense?

The next question is probably about price: Are we going to charge you all extra money for this four-pack? NOPE. This pack will be the same price as previous packs! Pretty stellar, right?

Stay tuned for trailers and details on the rest of the Heroes Within tables!

So it's four tables for the same $10 on three game systems. That's GREAT news in my book!

^^ Nice!! I wish I was better at these games. I put a good amount of hours into one of the earlier SW tables but constantly stuggled to complete "missions". It just became a chore.

Doesn't seem to say in the Press Release, but on the Zen forums, it does mention that it's coming for all platforms (minus WiiU), including the PC.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

The first two Season 3 tables came out on the PS4 today. Still no word on a Season Pass for the Playstation, which is pretty frustrating after all this time. Season Two tables are still not out for the PS4 and there's no word whether owners of the S2 pass on PS3 will get the tables at a discount or not. They're strangely silent on all these fronts.

Their silence isn't strange, it's par for the course. They'll distract us with brief updates on their Pinball After Dark and original pinball tables by the famous pinball creators! initiatives in the meantime.
