What do you mean "Which Version"? The Xbox and PS4 physical releases both have the same 10 tables (plus a code that will allow a download of Ghostbusters when available). It looks like the Xbox version has more tables because they list the Limited Edition of Star Trek and AC/DC, but they're not really any different than the regular versions and I wouldn't count them as different tables.
My advice is buy the two bundles off the Xbox for $19.99 each instead since you won't want to get up and put in the disc every time you want to play a table. To me that convenience is worth the extra $12, but it's your call. BTW : Only 4 tables (Star Trek, Mustang, AC/DC and the aforementioned Ghostbusters) aren't part of previously released Pinball Arcade season packs. Those other seven tables, if owned already in Season Packs or individually in TPA, will port to Stern Pinball Arcade if they haven't done so already. So I read back through everyone's posts regarding the Stern Pinball Arcade. Could they have made this release more confusing? So they duplicated many tables that are already on the Pinball Arcade. Are they actually updating/retooling these tables or are they the exact same tables? Then they put one table separate as the only way to get both versions. Then they charge a pretty substantial price for people who already have most of the tables and only need one or two. Then they include the "limited edition" tables as disc only? What the fuck? I see the disc version has a release date of 12-15-16. So is this going to be a completely separate game in the store or built within the regular Pinball Arcade? Sucks that they are doing the limited editions only on disc. I am a disc buyer typically but for stuff like pinball, I prefer digital and not having to swap out discs. Don't know what I am going to do about this release. I really like the AC/DC and Star Trek tables. I hope they eventually release the KISS, Aerosmith, Metallica, etc. tables as well. |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
This is taken from a review of the retail game on Amazon. I assume he is correct :
The PS4 version has 10 tables (11 including unreleased Ghostbusters), the XBONE has 13 (14 with Ghostbusters), the extra 3 being the Limited Edition versions of AC/DC and Star Trek. It's a little misleading, as the differences between these and the "standard" premiums are largely cosmetic. There are certainly no rule changes, playfield alterations, or anything else that affects gameplay. The box shot of the PS4 version claiming that it includes the Limited Editions is incorrect. The actual box does not make that claim; they are not available in any version on PS4. At least some (probably all, but no guarantees) of these releases on either platform state there is a download code to get Ghostbusters for free when it is released (current estimate is March or April, but no solid date as of yet). Obviously, as Ghostbusters hasn't even been finished yet, it is not on the disc, and must be downloaded. |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Thanks Decker. I wonder what the cosmetic changes are?
So anyone going to the Southern Fried Gameroom Expo in Atlanta in June? I will be there and am taking my son again. It was a lot of fun last year playing all kinds of pinball (and arcade games) until my fingers wanted to fall off. http://southernfriedgameroomexpo.com/ |

Pinball FX3 is the biggest, most community-driven pinball game ever. Posted by Mel Kirk VP of Publishing, Zen Studios https://static.blog.playstation.com/..._o-755x425.jpg Hello from Zen Studios! We’ve got some very big news! I am so excited to announce that Pinball FX3 will be releasing on PlayStation 4 this summer. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4234/3...db14cccf_b.jpg Zen Pinball has been serving the PlayStation community since the very early days of PSN in May of 2009 (8 years?!?!), and the time has come to go next-level and take a major step forward in the evolution of pinball. Pinball FX3 will now be the Zen-supported pinball platform on PSN – replacing Zen Pinball 2 which is currently available on PS4. Pinball FX3 is a massive game packed full of new features designed to turn pinball into a true community experience on PS4. Built around multiplayer-matchups, user-generated tournaments and league play, Pinball FX3 is now so much more than just leaderboard rankings – the game elevates the competitive pinball spirit that has thrived since the early days of pinball more than a century ago. Not so hot with the flippers? We have heard from so many people that they feel lost when trying to play pinball, not really understanding the game or objectives. We have thought about you along the development process and have designed deep single-player modes that will help you become a better pinball player! https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4261/3...4d65aa7f_z.jpghttps://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4260/3...3a25ce40_z.jpg Now, to answer the question burning in all of your minds: can you take your Zen Pinball 2 tables to Pinball FX3? Yes, you can! Zen Studios is 100% committed to keeping the community intact and providing you with one of the best values in gaming. We are happy to announce that you will be able to import the majority of your Zen Pinball 2 purchases to Pinball FX3 for free! We’re giving you all of the new features and upgrades at no cost – and there are a ton of them, giving you reasons to never stop playing your tables. We like to think that Pinball FX3 is an endless ocean of replayability! There are a ton of other details to share with you, and we will post more details as we lead up to launch. Keep an eye on our social media feeds or www.pinballfx.com for news and updates, including confirmed table roster, info on what we have done to make your pinball tables more beautiful (yes, harnessing extra gfx power) and of course, news about brand-new content releasing with Pinball FX3. We will have new day-one content based on some amazing properties from a brand new partner! Thank you all for many, many years of support. The game keeps going because you keep playing and supporting us. Pinball FX3 is a new beginning and we look forward to awesome days ahead! |

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
you will be able to import the majority of your Zen Pinball 2 purchases to Pinball FX3 for free Take for instance Epic Quest and Mars in the announcement trailer. Are they part of the PFX3 main pack where I have to pay for them again if I want the other 2-4 tables they're showing or will I get those automatically when I download what could be a free shell that runs the paid-for tables? I need more info now! |

This is good news, but I worry about those that are left in the dust. If they're playable at all or only buy purchasing again.

Is Pinball FX3 PS4 only? It doesn't mention any other consoles.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Nice! Guess that explains the relative lack of FX2 tables so far this year. Looks like we won't have to wait all that long for it to come out.
Definitely interested in the kinds of visual improvements they have in store. |

If I had to guess, it probably says majority because the Super League Football table won't import, since it's no longer on the stores. Also, one of their older licenses may be close to expiring that they won't bother bringing over, like Ninja Gaiden or Stret Fighter.

Looks like Stern Pinball Arcade on PS4 will finally let you get High Roller Casino for free if you own it on The Pinball Arcade. It showed up for free on the store for me, not sure if it works in game or not.

Public Service Announcement :
I think every Marvel Pinball DLC table (and bundle) put out by Zen as well as South Park, Balls of Glory and maybe some other DLC packs are currently on sale at 50% off as part of the PSN Comic Com Falsh Sale until Mon 8/24 @ 8AM PT. A great time to fill holes in your collection before the ZP3 upgrade. Link to all DLC here |

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
I'm excited for that one, and more importantly, for a new line of "Universal Classics" tables, whatever that means. I figure that Jaws and BTTF Trilogy are a given - especially since it's apparent that Speilberg's company is on board with the licensing. Would love to see "1941" and Blues Brothers but they seem less likely. Wonder if the Universal Monsters are fair game for these tables.
FWIW : If you're playing a pinball game to save an alien who has the power to levitate objects, and he just lets you Ball Out anyway, I say he's kind of a dick, let him die. |

Universal Classics Pinball is a new pinball collection inspired by three award-winning Amblin Entertainment motion pictures including E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws, and the Back to the Future trilogy. Players can get behind the wheel of the DeLorean time machine and travel through different eras of Hill Valley to fix the space-time continuum on the Back to the Future table, take on the terrifying great white shark on the Jaws table, and go on an adventure with Elliot as he helps E.T. contact his spaceship and return to the stars on the E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial table! “Universal Classics Pinball captures the most memorable moments from three films that defined my generation’s childhood, and are undoubtedly among the favorite films of Zen’s pinball design team,” said Mel Kirk, Zen’s Vice President of Publishing. “We could not have planned a better set of launch tables for the new Pinball FX3 platform, and we know pinball fans will agree!” The Universal Classics Pinball pack will release as a part of the launch of the Pinball FX3 platform on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The themed tables will also release as individual in-app purchases for Zen Pinball on the App Store and Google Play. |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Well, I'm kind of in love with that trio.
Here's hoping that we can see a Scott Pilgrim movie (Universal) or comic (Oni Press) table! That would be perfect for 7 modes. |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Game Informer has a small preview of the Universal tables.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Bought it and the Universal Classics pack. Thankfully the Universal pack is back at the old price of $9.99 for 3 tables. They had been pricing them a little higher lately.
Looking forward to trying them out later tonight. Can't wait to play me some Jaws and E.T. |

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
I downloaded the base game and imported my tables last night...too bad after I was done I had to take care of my toddler and go to sleep. But at least it's done, and it did look like a very slick interface. I'll have to check to see if it got all of my owned tables (minus the ones it won't import like PvsZ :(), a free one would be nice though.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Played some of the new tables today and had some fun on them. I had a crazy multiball going on Back to the Future with 6 balls on the table at once, and on Jaws it had my favorite table effect,
Spoiler:
Anyone creating tourneys on the PS4? |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
I ran into some awful glitches on BTTF with the ball warping all over the table and briefly freezing in place.
|
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Played a couple of old tables on FX3 last night in Biolab and World War Hulk. I have to say the new challenges really spruce up the old tables, make them feel new or at least that remastered feeling where you don't mind playing them again. Be interesting to see if I'm good enough to do well in these challenges and complete a few.
|
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
I ran into the glitch where I lost my progress. All earned stars and unlocks are gone, and it reset my settings, such as turning the annoying guide character back on.
|
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
I'm not sure this game is entirely Ready For Prime Time yet.
|
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
At least with Zen, I have faith that these things will get fixed fairly soon.
Farsight still hasn't got a clue what's going on. Stern Pinball Arcade got an update a few weeks ago that added Ghostbusters. Ghostbusters was unlocked for the people that had bought Pack 2 even though they were saying it shouldn't be until it went on sale on the store, which was this past Tuesday. They also apparently added the LE versions for their premium tables. They're only available in game, and you supposedly can buy the packs if you own the tables pack 1 has the 2 AC/DC tables and the Star Trek one, pack 2 has Mustang and Ghostbusters, but if you go to buy them in the store it will tell you they aren't available if you have the tables from buying the packs, it doesn't recognize you as having the tables if you bought the multi-table packs. |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
I know most of us like our Pinball digital...but I got the Stern Pinball Arcade physical disc (it's now under $20) and Ghostbusters was available to play for free. I'm not sure of the exact list but it's 13 or 14 tables. Extremely good value as long as you don't mind the disc thing. Just a thought.
BTW, at least my experience with Pinball FX3 has been solid so far. I'm sure I'll run into I'm not good enough at Pinball darn it will set in soon enough though, lol. |

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
I played quite a bit this weekend. The challenges are a nice add to the game.
Played some challenges, single player and tried out the online leagues. I have yet to master a PFX table. Suppose I should read the table rules. Unlike TPA where I have actually played them in real life and know the rules better. |
