Pack #5 for Pinball Arcade will be Taxi and Harley Davidson.
I'll have to check out Harley Davidson -- don't think I've ever seen that table. When does Pack 3 hit PSN? I really liked that Universal Monster table when I tried it out on the iPad -- it's so good it'll get me to purchase the pack even though it includes that snooze-fest Gorgar table (which I'm sure has all sorts of great pinball historical value despite being boring to play). |

Acutually, the dot matrix display on Cirqus Voltaire is projected onto the back of the playfield via mirror, it's a really cool effect in person, but is actually harder to read, depending on the environment lighting, than the virtual table.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Gorgar and Monster Bash are available to download in Pinball Arcade on the Xbox 360.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Scratch that. Pulled from XBL.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
I'm guessing that the Popcap pinball table is going to be Zuma.

I keep coming back to PvZ for missions, but I can see a PvZ/Peggle/Zuma/Bejeweled combo. I can't see any of the others standing on their own.

You'd think, right? But the Zen representative on the Zen forum and on the PS Blog keeps asking "Which game do you guys think it is?", so that would go against an amalgam table presumably.
Still, I think PvZ is their main franchise. |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Looks like the 3rd pack for pinball arcade will be back up on the 28th according to Farsight, although I assume it'll be the 29th since that's a Wednesday. They also put up their Kickstarter for Star Trek: TNG, here. I haven't pledged yet, but I'll probably throw $20 on it.
|
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
I threw $100 on TTZ+TNG until it was clear it wouldn't make the stretch. Then I backed it down to $25. I don't think I can bring myself to put any down on this. My value has been halved.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
They really should have waited until Twilight Zone was out before doing another.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Hey, as long as it gets funded, and I don't have to put any money into said funding (and it's already over half-way there), I'm fine with it. I'll happily pay $2.50 or even $5 for the table, but more than that with nothing more to show for it does nothing for me.So let the suckers on Kickstarter (no offense, pinata) get the "satisfaction of knowing you helped make the preservation of this table possible". I'll just grab the DLC table when it's finally out.

I fired up the demo again hoping the title update had the physics fix in it. Either it didn't, or it's still poop.

Eh, it feels a lot better to me. Some tables are still kind of "floaty" but I think that might just be the "angle" the table is at, less of an angle, the more floaty the physics would be.

Perhaps FarSight can start a new Kickstarter next month to raise the funds needed to patch their game's wonky physics model

Why should they? People keep giving them cash as it is now, I'm sure the $30 I'd spend pales in comparison to the cash flow they are getting from kickstarter.

Press Announcement:
http://blog.zenstudios.com/wp-conten...arden_V1_b.png Zen Studios at PAX Prime 2012 Posted on August 27, 2012 by BarbieBobomb Zen Studios has created tables based on superheroes, alien invasions, greedy knights, fast cars and even mad scientists, and as you all know, our latest project is in collaboration with the super talented folks at PopCap Games! What is this mystery table??? We will be revealing all during PAX Prime later this week! Zen Studios will be participating in a discussion panel with PopCap Games! “Love at first bumper: The behind the scenes story of how pinball united Zen Studios and PopCap Games” is scheduled for Friday, August 31st at 8pm in the Unicorn Theatre of the Washington State Convention Center. This panel includes our own Creative Director, Neil Sorens, as well as PopCap’s Producer, Ty Roberts and PopCap’s Director of Social Media, Jeff Green. If you are going to PAX, stop by and see us in the PopCap booth. You can get your hands on the new table and meet the Zen crew. It will be a lot of fun! See you at PAX! _______________________________ They sure seem to be going to a lot of trouble to build hype and speculation when we all know it's going to be Plants Vs Zombies. |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
They sure are hyping the shit out of this Popcap table. Geez.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Preview for Table Pack 5:
I think I played the Harley table a few times, don't remember it being amazing, but it's cool to see more licensed tables. |

Agreed. I'm starting to think it's gotta be more than just PvZ. Maybe not a pack, but maybe it's based more off the sequel like Ms. 'Splosion Man was.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Well what if it tells the story that bridges the PopCap games? ;)

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
The Gorgar and Monster Bash tables in Pinball Arcade are now available, and the achievements now work.

However I think the leaderboards are offline until Friday. Microsoft does not give a shit about this game in any way.
Sounds like Pack 4 should be up in a week or two, according to some random guy on their Facebook page. |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Got Best Buy's @Gamer magazine in the mail today (the September issue). Intentionally or not, they revealed the Popcap table in their reviews section. I'll spoilerize it in case anyone wants to be surprised (weirdos).

It does look nice. |

holy shit, next week.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Yup. And more importantly, so is the free Zen Pinball 2 upgrade, new trophies, improved physics and especially, free Vita Cross Play. I bought a new memory card to make sure I have enough memory for the game and all the tables (1 GB total, they estimate)

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
I concur. The 32 GB would be nice, and it's "dropped" to $71.99 on Amazon, but I didn't want to spend even that much on a Vita card, so I found this site on Google Shopping where I bought a 16 GB card for $39.99 shipped (33% off MSRP). Can't totally vouch for the site yet, but they shipped the card extremely quickly via USPS with tracking number and figure I'm safely protected by Google Wallet.
