I picked it up with the COD: MW2 Xbox. With the huge hard drive that'll take years to fill, the game, 2 Xbox controllers and the headset, I couldn't pass. My other Xbox recently suffered from rrod, so this was a perfect gift for myself. It's soooo much quieter than my old Xbox too! I didn't realize how loud my original Xbox was until I started this one up.

Actually it was the Buy.com/ebay deal of the day today for $40. Of course that doesn't meet your not "hovering over a keyboard" requirement as it is already sold out.
I was just saying that COD4 has only dropped in price by $10 in 2 years, so a $20 gift card is a pretty excellent preorder deal on the new game. Now I don't have to price shop for single day deals like the one you posted. Sorry I stirred up your OCD.

You may want to take that back and wait a couple of weeks. Target is going to have the same unit on Black Friday and it comes with a $50 gift card. The $299 version gets the $50 gift card as well.

I got COD4 for ~$45 once the GOTY version came out. Note the one that is ~$50 now is the GOTY version.

COD4 was my first console game purchase in over 15 years. And I bought it on an Amazon sale for $40. This is prior to owning an Xbox 360. I bought the console and have a total of 46 days played on MP. It was a no brainer to buy CODMW2.

If I don't get it for Christmas(I highly suspect that I am), then I'll wait until my birthday in February to pick it up at FYE(20% off with the BSP) with some gift cards that I need to burn.

Yup. Bought it the Friday before launch for the 360.

Currently tied with Uncharted 2 as my pick for Game of the Year. And I wasn't a particularly big fan of MW1.

As a PC gamer who likes playing with mods, custom maps, and more than 18 players, no I won't be buying it. Cod4 I bought at 39.99 at launch so it would definitely have to be cheaper than that for me even to consider it for multiplayer only.

I have tried getting into FPS on my 360 but I just can't get used to the controller.

No standing in line or hovering over a keyboard needed. Modern Warfare 2 for $40. I did miss my "by Christmas" prediction though.

I picked this game up with a buy 2 get 1 used sale at Gamestop but just could not get into it. Liked the single player which I got a good chunk into just not enough to finish and the online just doesn't interest me. Liked the $55 resale value of it though.

I bought one the day it came out, and I'm getting my boys the CoD Prestige Elite 360 for Xmas, which also comes with the game, so I'll be able to kick my kid's ass in-house!!

I'll wait until the PC version drops in price to closer to $30.

I bought it, played it for about four days, and returned it for credit towards Bayonetta, and Tatsunoko Vs Capcom. The campaign was fine, but the online play just didn't keep me interested.
