Entrian weapons are the best against the guardian since there is no ammo, just recharge time.

In case ou're thinking about going thru the second play-thru be prepared for more challenged game even though you're playing the same levels.Everything and everyone is better and stronger, even the skag dogs are brutal at the first level. |
Re: Borderlands
I finished up the Zombie DLC, very nice. The humor is still very entertaining, without being obnoxious. I went back to my second playthrough, at level 48, and the game is way too easy. Before I started the DLC, the skags were relatively challenging. Now, I can blast through anybody with one shot.

I might have been handicapping myself in the 1st play-through though, by not using any elemental weapons. I used a hellfire smg and a x4 acid shotgun for variety, but still ended up using a high damage shotgun through most of the 2nd play. |
Re: Borderlands
Yeah, I thought the second playthrough was a cakewalk, and I was using a level 24 Hellfire SMG for pretty much the entire thing.

Re: Borderlands
after i hit level 50 with Roland, i started a lillith. i finished my first playthrough last night at level 35. She is a blast to play with, but if you are looking for a challenge...she isn't the way to go. If you set her up right she is a god.

Re: Borderlands
I found the difficulty in this game to be very inconsistant. Was harder at the beggining, and a few parts in the middle, the end was relatively easy with all the crazy weapons. All the second half bosses were simple, including the last boss which took < 1min.
|
Re: Borderlands
I realize that you can make the game more difficult by using lower weapons and other upgrades, but that seems to go completely against one of the main selling points the developers went for.
Is playthrough 2.5 much more difficult than 2? |

Here's a Destructoid link about it that I can't read since it's blocked at work:

Your images lived a short life pinata. Both are now dead.

Re: Borderlands
Gramps' link has them both. Just the promo images Gearbox sent out.

Re: Borderlands
Gearbox has announced its third piece of DLC for Borderlands today, "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx," slated to hit the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this year. The DLC will bring a "huge new environment" featuring new enemies and new weapons. Gearbox is saying the experience is designed "for growth for characters from around level 34 to level 50." Yes, apparently Gearbox will be raising the level cap for this upcoming DLC, although they haven't confirmed by how much. We hope to have more details soon, so keep your eyes peeled. |
Re: Borderlands
Call me an enemy of fun, but "Borderlands" is striking me as the most underhyped game, turning into the most overhyped game. I remember being intrigued by it but shocked by the lack of hype, then I read months of hype from players. I finally borrowed a copy from a friend and I'm completely underwhelmed.
A very dull, tedious experience is the best way I can sum it up. I'm currently a Level 22 Berserker and I'm forcing myself to just finish the game; I honestly can't imagine playing through more than once. My friend who I borrowed it from said if the storyline is putting me to sleep now, I'm going to despise the ending. |
Re: Borderlands
So, after buying this during the Best Buy B2G1F sale many moons ago, I've finally put this in my Xbox. Gotta say I'm really liking it so far. I decided to go with the sniper class with the first play through, so if any one wants to do some multiplayer, shoot me an invite (tag is in the sig).

Re: Borderlands
I still haven't played with anyone and I had it pegged as my GOTY before I played Uncharted. Single player is a blast, but yeah, there is no story to be found.

because it's not designed as a solo player experience. sure, you can play it that way, but it's infinitely more fun when you do a run through with a buddy.

Re: Borderlands
Just started playing this last week. I'm a lvl 31 Berserker, and I can barely put the game down. Bought it in October and it sat to play some shorter games. Most fun I've had with a game in a very long time.
I couldn't get into Fallout 3 at all, but I'm loving this game, even playing by myself. |

It's not a story-driven game, that's true. It's about loot and multiplayer. Have you played online with anyone? Have you looked at any other classes besides the Berserker?
