What should I play next?

Having just finished Batman: Arkham Asylum, I'm ready for another game in my pile.

Help me choose. Preferably a shorter game (looking to trade in a couple games to pick up RE5.)

I voted for LBP. Unless you dive into the user created levels, the main game itself isn't very long.

If you want shorter then Little Big Planet or Prince of Persia. Out of the whole list though Super Mario Galaxy get's my vote.

Re: What should I play next?

To maximize trade-in value, I'd probably go with Infamous. The rest are all probably fairly low trade in value aside from Mario, and Mario won't depreciate as fast as the rest.

The best game on the list AFAIK is Mario Galaxy. I'd wait for motion controls on RE5.

Re: What should I play next?

I went with Mario. I loved the first two Silent Hills and hadn't played another one until Homecoming. Made it halfway through and quit. Just a lousy game that feels very dated. I'd also warn anyone but MGS diehards away from MGSIV. It's hard to get past the 20 minute cutscene-5 minutes playing-10 minute cutscene-3 minute interactive cutscene-blah-blah-blah format. Everything else on the list is good, with Mario and Prince of Persia standing out as the best.

Mario Galaxy is the best game on the list but I picked No More Heroes.

Silent Hill - once you're done you're done.
or
Infamous - you'll get the most $$$ for the trade-in

No More Heroes would have been my first pick, but you aren't going to get anything for the trade-in...maybe $5.

I've not played Mario so I went with Infamous.

Re: What should I play next?

I ended up starting on Prince of Persia, because my wife kindly reminded me that Mario Galaxy was her game and I have no right to trade it away.

So far, PoP is lame.
Spoiler:
the 'no-dying' is something I can get over, but I absolutely hate having to collect those damn light-things after beating each boss.

Mario Galaxy will indeed be played next after PoP... but I just won't sell it when I'm done.

So collecting light orbs in PoP is somehow worse than collecting StarBits, Coins and Stars in Mario? Due tell.

He hasn't started Galaxy yet so he doesn't know that it follows every other 3D Mario formula to-date.

D'oh!
Actually, I haven't played any of the 3D Mario games from N64 or GameCube.

My problem with Prince of Persia is that you have to collect a certain number of light orbs before you can unlock more levels/powers. So far, it doesn't seem like you need all of them to progress in the game, but I get the feeling that I'm going to need to go back and collect some that I initially missed.

Re: What should I play next?

It's been a while since I played POP, but IIRC, there's usually plenty of the orbs between you and your next destination anyway. I think you unlock all the powers/levels with somewhere around half of the orbs.

Also, just a heads up, LBP has a newer "Game of the Year" edition out with a bunch of bonus content, so if you have the original version, it might not be worth much as a trade-in anymore.

Re: What should I play next?

I like SMG but it's not really short I think.

I went with inFamous. I was able to finish it fairly quickly and I'm not a hardcore gamer. Plus it's probably still worth a fair amount on trade-in.

It's not bad if all you want to is "win" and complete the main story.
