PSP help

Today we're leaving for the beach. To make the trip easier on us parents, last week I gave a friend of mine some of the kids dvds to convert to play on their psp's. Last night he dropped off the dvds and the converted ones on a disc.

I dont know what I'm doing wrong. The movies are in individual folders named for each movie and in each folder are 2 files. In one of the folders one file is labeled MAQ00034.MP4 and the other is labeled MAQ00034.thm. I first moved all the folders to the psp's but when I checked to make sure they would play, the folders were there but the movie file says "unsupported data". I deleted the folders and put the MAQ00034.MP4 file straight onto the psp and it still says unsupported data.

All of the converted files play fine on my pc when I click on the MAQ00034.MP4 type files. What am I doing wrong? I've tried calling my friend but he hasn't called back and we're leaving this afternoon!! I dont know if he actually converted them or retrieved them off the web. I've put mp4 files in the past on my personal psp without any problems before.

Please help!!!!

Ripping/converting DVDs is not discussed here.

Sorry I forgot about that. Didn't think it would be that big of a deal since I own the dvds. I'll try to find it somewhere less wimpy.

Re: PSP help

I don't think the mp4 files need a special name. Just put the "movie title".mp4 file in the video folder on the psp. As long as it was encoded correctly it should work. As far as encoding you'll have to search elsewhere.

Re: PSP help

PSP videos have to be encoded w/ the correct dimentions or you will get that error. Perhaps he used too high a resolution?
