What platform/system was Tomb Raider I, II, III played on?
Playstation. The game came out almost fifteen years ago, dude.

DS and PSP count as well, of course. I always forget the handhelds.

TR3 was releasted for the PC and PlayStation

(Rules 1) Unless specifically mentioned in the question, all games include console games, handheld games, PC games...
(Rules 2) For games released "this generation", XBLA/PSN remakes do not count and any VC game does not count. XBLA/PSN originals, even ones based on previously released games (i.e. Pacman CE) do count.

By (Rules 1), TR3 as a PC game, is a "game". By (Rules 2), since TR3 was itself not an XBLA/PSN remake, nor a VC game, it counts, since only those specific games are disqualified.

I challenge.

Zoey (a female) is certainly a main character in Left 4 Dead ... now, if we are splitting hairs (as I expect we are), then the question comes down to how you interpret "the" in the question. If you feel that "the" means a game where there is only a single character to play, or if "the" allows for games where you can choose a character (though all would be considered as main - as I felt L4D does).

Re: (Reverse) Sheep Round 9 — Wolves at the door

Zoey can be the main character in Left 4 Dead.
Also, Mass Effect can have a female lead as well.

I vote yes for both.

Unless JasonF or Bus said either, than my vote is no.

You still don't have a leg to stand on as it being a game from this generation.

L4D should definitely count. It's the only game where I got the team killed because I was too busy ogling Giantrobo's ass.

Mass Effect is a clever answer! I say it can count as well.

Can you walk in Gamestop and purchase Tomb Raider 3 for either the 360, Wii or PS3?

Why wouldn't Mass Effect count?

Tomb Raider III came out in 1998 for the original Playstation. That isn't "this generation".

I love all the support for Mass Effect, though it's obvious it was a terrible answer At least it wasn't Wolfed.

Why is it a terrible answer? You can play the lead as either male or female.

Don't know, I've never been in a Gamestop.

I'm just looking at the rules as provided. TR3 was released for a platform that this thread says counts as a valid platform, and is not listed as one of the games that are excluded.

I have no illusions of winning this game, but if I'm gonna come in last (FoD notwithstanding) it really should be because I gave a wrong answer, not because the rules are seemingly fluid. Either it's a right answer or its not, and the rules themselves seem to be pretty clear and free from ambiguity.

Yes, it's a valid platform. But it did not come out in "this generation"...

The question specifically says "this generation". Neither the original Playstation or PC games released 11 years ago count as "this generation".

You're missing the point though.

Name a game from this generation
The Playstation is not 'this generation' the PS3 is. TR3 was not released for the PS3.

It's not like I have a dog in this fight anyway, just trying to clear it up.

The only reference to "this generation" in the rules is quoted above, and it lists, with specificity, those games that are NOT of "this generation". The answer I gave is NOT referenced therein, and should therefore be a valid answer IMO.

I'll shut up, but I think the +16 for giving what I beleive to be a correct answer is just me getting jobbed.
