Just saw this update from Major Nelson RE: the Shadow Complex leadboards and cheaters...
The team at Chair Entertainment continues to look for ways to enrich the “Shadow Complex” experience for players even if it means taking action by deleting leaderboard information generated by those who try to compromise our game. This week the Xbox LIVE enforcement team will begin taking steps against players verified as cheaters. These players have not only violated the spirit of the game, but they have also violated the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use. Moving forward, initial steps will be taken with a number of player accounts that belong to verified cheaters including: -The player will be deleted from the “Shadow Complex” leaderboard -The Xbox LIVE enforcement team will investigate individual players removed from the leaderboards for potential resetting of the user’s gamerscore. The reset would include all games, not just “Shadow Complex.” -Those accounts determined by the Xbox enforcement team to have their gamerscore reset will be branded on Xbox LIVE as belonging to a cheater, and this information will be reflected in the gamer profile, both on Xbox.com and in the Xbox Dashboard on the console. We believe that our players deserve a level playing field, and both teams at Xbox LIVE and Chair Entertainment are committed to providing the best overall game experience on Xbox LIVE. How awesome would it be to see the face of an online cheater getting their overall gamerscore deleted for cheating - my gamerscore means nothing to me, but to a cheater, it's everything, so it would be sweet, sweet justice to take it away from them.

No clue...but at one point i hit a glitch where a dude was dead, but still standing upright and I was able to keep doing melee takedowns on him. I did about 5, then was like "Sweet I could be at the top of the leaderboard!!!" THen I was like "That's lame..." and kept on going.

Fuck you in your stupid ass shadow complex.
I got to the foam gun area where it's supposed to show a clip then prompt you somewhere else. SOmething glitched up and now I can't progress the story and need to restart. Lame. SMB Pinata. |

Are you absolutely sure? I don't remember a section off the top of my head where the game "pushes" you anywhere.
Are you talking about where you first get the foam gun? |

Are you talking about where you first get the foam gun? by pushes I mean updates the blue line to show you the next place to go. There's supposed to be a cutscene and that gets updated. |

See how at about 1 minute in here it updates the blue line? Mine doesn't do that, my game starts in this room...no cut scene happens (because it already did happen then i died and stopped playing one day.) |

But in the video you're saying the ! didn't move, but you think that's where you should be going. Have you tried going there to kick-start it by going there on your own?

So with my new paycheck I decided to buy a ton of MS points, and my first purchase with them was this very game. I hadn't read this thread or heard anything about the game other than my friend who told me it's "definitely my kind of game." I wasn't sure what he meant until now.
I'm just a little past getting the foam gun. It's hard to put down. Where's the announcement for a GD sequel already! It's already been repeated a thousand times, but....well worth the $15 and even more than that! |

I'd like to see them address the issue of cheating in Trials HD. When the top score on the leaderboard has 1000x the score of #2, something is wrong, especially when a replay can't be reloaded. Same thing goes for the replays that show people blatantly glitching to artificially raise their score.

Finally completed my first run through of this today, finished in 6+ hours or so with about 90% of the items. I still don't think it raised any bars, but it was a pretty solid game. The little issues annoy me like it did Pixy (aiming, wall jumping not always working) but I stuck through it. I'm going to try and get 100% items, and do some of the challenges, but after that I probably won't touch this game for awhile. I'm not into things like speed runs or that minimalist achievement, as they they don't seem particularly fun to me. One of the better XBLA games, but far from my favorite.

I finally finished Proving Grounds and it was a lot of fun.
I also tried on completing 100% items but there's one at the bottom of the map that it seems will be impossible for me. :( |

Just a heads up, Limited Run is making a small batch of physical copies for the PS4 for $25. Only 7,000 copies will be printed and orders start on Friday.

Went ahead and bought a physical copy this morning. Certainly didn't need it and am not a collector, but since it's my favorite XBLA game, figured this would be a cool little collectable to have.
