 I just know Rusted Root and Seven Mary Three were both bands that i got all kinds of shit from my friends for really liking. To this day i still think Rusted Root is a damn good band. I actually think they touch upon that Grateful Dead vibe a little better than Phish or the Dave Matthews Band.

I don't know why I feel compelled to stick up for Eve 6--especially since I didn't like their "big" album, and really don't like "Inside Out"--but I still think Horrorscope has some damn fine songs on it, like "Promise," "Amphetamines," "Nocturnal," and "Jet Pack." Not much chance of those making it to RB, though, I'm guessing.

I was working at a music store when Rusted Root's When I Woke was released. My hippie wannabe manager crammed that damn cd down our throats and every one of us there hated it because he played it constantly. Constantly.

Now if I ever hear it, I can't get that hippie smell out of my nose. You know that smell...mixture of patchouli, weed, and body odor. Amazing what your brain can do even though it has been 15 years.

Great week of DLC. I was really hoping for Third Eye Blind to coincide with their album release but Eve 6 is pretty great news.

I wonder if Dexter Freebish ever opened for Eve 6. How can we find out who opened for Eve 6, you know, back in their glory days?

Who the fuck is Dexter Freebish? I guess Canada never got subjected to them, because I've never heard of them.... and I'd be all for more so called 'bland' rock in RB - I'll take any 311 and Everclear I can get my hands on, which you mentioned earlier :)

I can honestly say I have never, ever, ever heard that song.

Wow, I thought that song was pretty big. I guess the station I was listening to at that time was big on it. It would make a fine Rock Band song for parties.

That song had some pretty heavy radio-play for a few months. I just like mentioning them because they were pretty popular for a spell... and then poof. Nothing but a punchline at the end of a joke about the slightly less irrelevant Eve 6.

I never heard the one chuck posted either. However the one Kij posted is atrocious and fits right along with the nature of the thread derailment.

I would love all of the songs mentioned in the above posts.

Just sayin'.

(except for Dexter Freebish, never heard that song before...)

 Hey, I love 90s alt rock (corporate one-hit wonders or otherwise) and would love to have an album pack for this:

(Well, except for Courtney Hole. I can't stand her.)

Personally, I'm a big Better Than Ezra fan (yes, they're still around) and would kill to have "Good" as DLC.

Was there this much hate for "My Own Worst Enemy" and "Lump" when the RB 2 tracklisting was announced? (I wasn't in to RB back then, so I'm honestly curious and not being snarky.)

Not that I remember, but considering that I've bought all the Presidents of the United States of America DLC that's come down the pike, I'm not gonna be the one to poke fun at them. :)

What's kind of sad is that I'm old enough to have played Lit on college radio before they broke through. They're pretty forgettable but aren't aggressively bland like some of the other bands mentioned upthread.

I seem to remember a lot of the griping about RB2's setlist revolving around the female-fronted bands.

Yes, but you can't find this in stores anywhere! Only available from this exclusive offer! But call now, and we'll reduce the price of this amazing set to $24.95. That's right, this incredible 2 DISC SET for only $24.95!

Presidents of the United States of America, IMO, really doesn't qualify in the same category. They remain relatively popular, all things considered. They're no Dexter Freebish, clearly.

Look, know matter what your personal opinions on music there's one thing we can all agree upon: Fuck Nickleback.

Seriously. There was a song a few months ago that I told my wife that I felt weird because I actually liked a Nickleback song. Then I found out it was Theory of a Dead Man and I slept easy again.

Say what you will but Candlebox's self-titled debut is one of the best albums from that time. The entire album is excellent instead of just having one or two radio songs. We played the shit out of it at the music store.

Their follow-up was quite disappointing though.

If it's the song I'm thinking of, that might be worse. Haha.
