Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Nah, I just made sure to get everything in when the wins were guaranteed. It does suck that dried up, but really it shouldn't have gone on as long as it did. It helped me that I had a ample supply of caps from my daughters' day care between "pop day" and the daily intake by the staff.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I still have nine winners to redeem as well. If nothing in the next update seems appealing I might just turn them all into Wii points for the upcoming Super ESB and SROTJ releases. I've held off on Weezer, Kiss and everything this week though in hopes that they would hit at some point.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I'll be going to the ballgame on the 18th and 21st so I should be posting some more codes.
Edit: How about this - pm me a screengrab of the highest score you can get on Charlene (Easy) guitar by Wednesday, August 19 at noon CST and I'll send a 5 pack of codes to the highest score. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Drums on Feel Good Inc. was maybe worth the price of the whole Gorillaz pack alone. Sounds so awesome! (That and the camera/animation choices for Clint Eastwood. Having the drummer rap the Russell parts was BRILLIANT!)

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Yeah, all the songs this week are good on drums. Magic Bus is nuts for the last quarter of the song, but the rest are all fun and quite (panoramic view, look, I'll make it all) manageable. It's also a great week for the vocalists.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Article about Beatles: Rock Band that also is fairly informative about regular ol' Rock Band too. This made me laugh:
The Rock Band Network is so potentially consequential that Harmonix went to great lengths to keep its development secret, including giving it the unofficial in-house code name Rock Band: Nickelback, on the theory that the name of the quintessentially generic modern rock group would be enough to deflect all curiosity. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Isn't that referring to The Beatles Rock Band code name?
|
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
 That's a double-edged sword, though. If that leaked, it would be enough to get the immature internet up in arms about HMX being a sell-out.

That's probably the funniest thing I'll read today.

Seems pretty clear the quote says it's about RBN, not TB:RB. Unles NYT got it wrong.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Is it a pipe-dream to hope something like this could make it to Rock Band along with the DVD release of the movie?

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I'm pretty sure that 2 1/2 minutes is better than the entire GI Joe movie, so anything is possible.

Des Plaines? We're practically neighbors--I've recently moved to Devon/Milwaukee/Nagle... I'm a block from http://www.danasresort.com/images/sp..._Superdawg.jpg But if the neighborly approach doesn't work... I'll have to dig up some incriminating photos from the '01 meet  |

Simplest way is to go into Quickplay, sort by "Location", and check if you have 84 songs under the "Rock Band 2" category.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Unlocking varies depending on what game mode you play. When you unlock a new "Challenge" it unlocks all the songs in that challenge throughout the game without even playing the challenge. In World Tour, you need to play and beat the song for it to be unlocked throughout the game.
So, we can't really tell you what you're missing. |

I checked and I have 83. Weird. Is there one last song you unlock when you get to the very end?
I know I didn't get to until months after the game was out. |

I know I didn't get to until months after the game was out. Don't you read any of my bitch-fest posts??? :) I guess I will maybe just do a run thru of the song list off gamefaqs or somewhere to see what I am missing. |

PR for Metal Track Pack
Harmonix, the leading developer of music-based games, and MTV Games, a part of Viacom's MTV Networks, along with distribution partner Electronic Arts Inc., today announced plans to release Rock Band Metal Track Pack, a thrashtastic standalone disc that will be available October 13, 2009 at retail stores nationwide for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system, PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and Wii system from Nintendo. The suggested retail price for Rock Band Metal Track Pack is $29.99. Summoning power from the metal gods on high, the Rock Band team has assembled 20 on-disc tracks exploding with bone-crushing, ear-lashing, face-melting metal including anvil-heavy cuts from Godsmack, Children of Bodom, Evile, Judas Priest, Bullet For My Valentine and more! Six of the on disc tracks are brand new to the Rock Band platform and will be exclusive to the Rock Band Metal Track Pack disc for a limited time before joining the Rock Band Music Store as downloadable content. Rock Band Metal Track Pack, like all Rock Band software, is compatible with all Rock Band instrument controllers, as well as most Guitar Hero and other third party music video game peripherals and microphones. In addition, fans who buy the Rock Band Metal Track Pack for Xbox 360 or PLAYSTATION 3 system can play directly from the disc or download the songs onto their consoles' hard drives through a free offer with Xbox LIVE online entertainment network or the PlayStation Network. Once downloaded, the songs will automatically appear in the player's custom Rock Band library and can be integrated into setlists and played in all game modes. With more than 800 tracks available in the Rock Band music catalogue and regular releases of downloadable content every week, Rock Band Metal Track Pack is yet another way music-lovers can continue to expand and customize their music libraries. Complete Track List: Artist -- Song Title All That Remains -- Two Weeks At the Gates -- Blinded By Fear Black Tide -- ShockWave Blue Oyster Cult -- Transmaniacon MC* Bullet For My Valentine -- Waking the Demon Children of Bodom -- Are You Dead Yet Evile -- Thrasher Godsmack -- I Stand Alone The Haunted -- D.O.A. Hawkwind -- Master Of The Universe* I Mother Earth -- Levitate* In This Moment -- Forever Judas Priest -- Screaming for Vengeance Lacuna Coil -- Closer Lamb of God -- Laid to Rest Motorhead -- Killed by Death* Nazareth -- Hair of the Dog* Queens of the Stone Age -- 3's & 7's Rage Against The Machine -- Bulls On Parade* Yngwie Malmsteen -- Red Devil Who am I kidding? Bring it on! |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Apparently, the RBN site gives guidance on how they decide on song content and such, and it mentions that the Hair of the Dog chorus will not be censored at all. It's not too surprising, but very welcome.
|
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I can't wait for them to define these "exclusive windows" on the retail track packs. There's a couple country songs I wouldn't mind getting. Hair of the Dog from Metal sounds good, too. Maybe even Bulls on Parade.
