Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

If these were the original Spinal Tap songs, then a purchase would be a no-brainer, but I'm not too psyched about the rerecordings. I bought the CD - mostly just to get the DVD - and it's pretty inessential. But, like Mad Dawg said, some Tap is better than no Tap.

I'll probably wait until next summer's Pepsi promotion to snag them, though.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

Early (unofficial) announcement for Rock Band's 9/20/09 DLC: Pearl Jam's upcoming album "Backspacer".

http://www.billboard.com/#/features/...3.story?page=3

"Backspacer" will also be available on "Rock Band" the day it comes out, and Target has an exclusive on an edition of the album featuring access to download its songs for "Rock Band" on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. It's a precursor to a dedicated Pearl Jam game that could hit stores in 2010. Although MTV wouldn't confirm details, fan input is already being solicited on PearlJam.com to determine which live versions of songs from the band's catalog will be included.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

So if we buy the album do we get the downloads for free? Or will that version of the album cost 40 bucks?

Interesting but I really haven't enjoyed a full PJ album since Yield.

I'm not a huge PJ fan, but I know there are a few of them here on the forum and figured they might be excited. I'll have to give the new album a listen once it's out.

I'm guessing you might get some small discount (a few bucks) for buying the special edition vs. buying the regular album and the full RB download separately.

And that would be an accurate assumption.. $30 for the deluxe version whereas the regular cd would cost you $15ish and the download for $20.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

Hmmmm.... Vitalogy and everything since ruined PJ for me, but I'm always willing to give it a chance. Depending on the SE price at Target, I'll look into it.

I just want Vs.

With two full albums and three other tracks already available for DL, who would really want to buy a full Pearl Jam Rock Band game at this point?

(As long as it's still exportable into the main game.)

I imagine it would be like a big track pack on a disc with the engine built in and a few achievements (a la AC/DC).

yeah, I'd be happy with 10 (got it) Vs. and a couple choice tracks from vitalogy, yield and no code...that's about it.

Does the new album really count though? People want the hits, and with 10 albums and countless B-sides(Ledbetter, Footsteps, Hard to Imagine, Last Kiss, I Got ID, Long Road, You, Leavin Here, etc) the've barely scratched the surface. So yeah, there's plenty of room for more Pearl Jam.

As L&O pointed out, all of Vs, and choice tracks from Vitalogy, No Code & Yield would be great and that's still only half their catalog.

Hell, take a couple of their official "bootlegs", throw them into a game (ala AC/DC), and BOOM! you've got me on board.

Ugh, I definitely pass on Spinal Tap, and please, no more Pearl Jam, even though my voice is just like his. I'm not a huge fan, but singing Pearl Jam (and Stone Temple) are 'natural' for me to sing for some (surprising) reason, 'cause believe me, I'm no singer.

No straight man would ever use the phrase "heterosexual loving".

Um, me?

I nearly crapped my pants right now seeing that Backspacer will be out on RB day and date with the album!!
I'll just buy it from the DLC store though, and not the Target offer, since I am already getting the album from the fan club for the exclusive book packaging...

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

If anyone here has RB2 installed to their 360's HDD, you'll be interested to know that the recent dashboard update has changed how the 360 creates the image. My RB2 image was 6.3GB, but after deleting and re-doing it, it's only 4.6GB.

Just FYI.

They vary from game to game. Mass Effect stayed at 6.8GB, for example. Nothing went up. RB2 was, by far, the biggest drop for me. Hell, RB went from 5.2 to 4.9 (IIRC) GB. So RB2 is even smaller

You won't know until you try.
