Has anybody been keeping track of when they try? Early/late in the day/hour?

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
So umm... how are people liking this week's DLC?
I'm pleased as punch with both Deuce and Parasite -- two of my alltime favorite KISS songs. Ace's guitar work on Parasite is a blast to play, if maddening at times. Loving the drums on everything. HOWEVER "100,000 Years" is a disappointment, as they went with an alternate vocal melody for the verses that's inferior to the regular version. The drums, WHOA, that's a challenge and a half. I play on Hard and I was still sweating blood from my anus afterwards. Great to play "My Name is Jonas" and "Undone" from Weezer, two great songs. No big challenges but a lot of fun to play in a full band. We also enjoyed "Rock Show" from Blink-182, although I'm not the biggest fan. I'd like to see some more Kiss DLC down the line, maybe some full albums? Love Gun, Destroyer, Rock and Roll Over, Creatures of the Night, the Peter Criss solo LP... *sighs* I also enjoy adult movies. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
The new DLC was good...
Weezer is too easy to gold star as usual, with "Jonas" being the exception. Blink rules as always, and is hard as shit since it's so fast. I think we played "Feeling This" 3 times in a row. I would hate to see expert drums from Travis Barker though! |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I'm thinking anyone who gets a winner at this point should immediately cash it in right off the "You Win" screen before the powers that be decide later that it was really a loser.
|
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Nah, I don't really see that happening.
|
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
This blows...The coding has to be off on the site. I had 7 in a row winners before yesterday, and now 8 losers in a row. It's a shit algorithm.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
My theory...
The marketing wizards behind the promotion thought we'd be saving up our caps to wager big points int he flip cam, Harrah's, and console prizes. "Hey look, each customer will drink 20 bottles, wager 20 points, and we only have to give away a prize a week!" For example, 100,000 players at 20 caps makes 2 million Pepsis and only a handful of prizes!" Nope. Instead they may have sold 2 million Pepsis, but generated 2 million requests for DLC. We didn't play (one cap=one prize) the way they planned (many caps=chance at 1 prize). Just a theory (with theoretical numbers). |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
yay! just went 2/2 after going 0/2 a few days ago. Now I have 11 waiting to be redeemed for tracks so they better add more stuff soon.

It sucks that some of you are having your winning codes disappear. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Just in case everyone waits to hear the weekly DLC news through this thread, I will be away during the normal time so I won't be updating for it. Just in case it's assumed I'll be there within seconds as usual. I don't want people waiting to find out. Hope the Pantera rumor turns out true.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean it isn't true ;) I don't even hope it for me, but for everyone that showed great interest in the rumor.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I'm not a big Pantera fan, but they have a couple songs I'd pick up.

Otherwise, there are times where the backing vocals on these sound pretty cartoony, which kind of defeats the purpose of Tap. Most ended up pretty good, though, and I'm in the camp of "these are better than not having any." |

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I'll probably pick up three of those - Classic Spinal Tap>New Spinal Tap, which I didn't buy any of.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Awesome and congrats! If you've been playing on an RB1 kit, you're gonna be pretty happy. And the RB2 strat smokes the RB1, too.
|
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Sweet! I've got a friend who's been wanting to get into RB for cheap so looks like he's getting all my old now.
