Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Rob Thomas wants Matchbox 20 in Rock Band, but no one at Mtv or Harmonix has asked him.
I'm indifferent to M20 but it is interesting to see that no one has contacted such a high profile(?) band. Makes you wonder about all the other artists out there that haven't even been contacted. I guess it's easier to just keep pulling from the same well than seek out a new oasis. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Is there really anyone out there who still likes Matchbox 20? I always assumed they were a flash in the pan.
|
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
No one contacted him because Matchbox 20 sucked, pretty obvious.
|
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Whatever. Push and 3 A.M. were huge hits and they belong in a rhythm/party game. So does Third Eye Blind and The Wallflowers, for that matter. I'm not a fan of any of those, but I can listen to them on the radio and I would buy them if they were released.
Where's that 90's Track Pack announcement, Harmonix?!? |

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Miranda Cosgrove, Spongebob, and the Naked Brothers Band are in RB - I think Matchbox 20 would fit in just fine as well. ;)
|
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Matchbox Twenty is one of my guilty pleasures, so I'd be happy to see some of their stuff in Rock Band. (and I don't think they were a flash in the pan - 3 hit records, a greatest hits cd etc. they've just taken a long hiatus while Rob Thomas does his solo stuff). I'm sure there are more people who like them and would never admit it, but I'll take one for the team and say that I do.
|
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I'm with you brother! Matchbox Twenty may not be the hardest rockers on the block, but they're catchy as hell. If Maroon 5 is on RB, then Matchbox Twenty should be as well.
Besides, if anyone here claims that they didn't find "Smooth" to be a really catchy, fun song the first few times they heard it, then they're lying. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I agree. But just as an FYI, Smooth was Rob Thomas and Santana.

I dunno, the dude from MB20 is kind of crazy, I don't need him with my Spongebob!

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I've never hear of Big Dipper or The Dead Weather. What sort of music do they play?
|
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
The Dead Weather was on Conan about 2 weeks ago. I turned it off after about the first verse. Is boring, pretentious crap a genre?

darn .. I had hoped for a least one track to get... Guess I'll be going into the Pespi list to pick up some tracks.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
More Priest = WIN. Live Priest will probably be pretty awesome actually.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
While I'm not a fan of The Dead Weather, (or any of the DLC for next week, actually) it is a good thing that the RB people are releasing music at the same time as the actual album release.
Frankly, I'd take the White Stripes over this. But still, new music "synergy" can't be bad, right? |
