Re: EGM to Return
Woohoo! I've been reading EGM for 10+ years and was very sad to see it go. I'm really looking forward to this.

For those who have asked - We will definitely be bringing back Sushi-X, Quartermann, and other important names from EGM's past - stay tuned.

You actually PAID for EGM before they folded? You might be the first person I met who actually paid for it. They got carried away giving away their magazine toward the end to keep readership up, to keep advertising up.

I'm hopeful with Steve Harris back that EGM may once again be a quality gaming magazine.

What was wrong with it? Not that i'm disagreeing it's just that i stopped reading EGM in 06. I just remember their lingo became a bit too much like "this game is rad yo!!". My favorite part was the Hsu and Chan comic anywho.

That you paid? I thought by saying you were no longer going to support them, that meant you were paying for a subscription in the first place. Losing 2 years of a "free" magazine, does not seem like much of a loss. Does not seem that many here ever supported them in the first place...unless you call reading on the shit-thrown support.

EGM to Relaunch in March 2010.
Good news everyone! I still have all my issues from the last decade or so. My mom threw out the previous 7 years or so when she moved (
). Looking at them, I notice that the magazine got smaller when they redesigned it a few years ago.
Other people in this thread have mentioned Next Gen. I wish that magazine had stuck around and that GamePro went under.

Anyone check out the online mag?
I forgot about it coming back and happened upon them by accident. Initial impressions were that they are really well done. Free content seems to be enough to not warrant paying for a sub, but I'll definitely add this to the bookmarks.

I was also impressed by the online mag. While I'm still waiting for my print subscription to start up (yes I am paying for it this time around), I did pick up the first print issue from a local bookstore when I was on vacation. It's way better than Game Informer and actually feels like a quality mag. It was $6.99 (subs are like $2 an issue I think), but that's par for the course these days it seems like.
