I haven't finished it but I really want too. I know one thing, the game sounds awesome when you crank it up and the all the ships are in battle.

Re: Star Trek games?

My problem with Legacy is you can't go back and play a specific mission. You have to go from start to finish to get to the TNG missions. Complete PITA.

Well that, and the fact that the missions are long with no "checkpoints" so if you blow it, you have to start over again. To me that's unforgivable in today's gaming.

Re: Star Trek games?

I want desperately to like the game but I clearly suck on this title as i can't even seem to get the dumb thing going. I orbit some star for eons and then, I just turn the game off and try something else.

Re: Star Trek games?

The best thing I figured out for Legacy is that it's far easier to navigate from the map (I think it's back button maybe? I dunno it's been months) than from the 3d view.

The Trek game for XBLA comes out tomorrow for 800 pts.

If one wanted a true spce flight sim and epic battles they need to only look at a older pc game called "Freespace 2 from Interplay. Hands down one of the best ever space battle sims out there. If some firm could make a Star Trek game like that they would be flying off the shelves.
Yeah, I remember Elite Force being a really solid game and very well reviewed.

I remember spending more than an hour on certain missions only to fail the final part. That game is a bitch.

It's a gaming classic. And the game which gave us the immortal Shatner "sabotaage" outtake.

Re: Star Trek games?

Did nobody else play Away Team? It was a pretty neat Commandos-style game on the PC.

I kind of wish i could go back and play it again.

Will this also be available for us lowly PS3 owners on the PSN, maybe this Thursday?

Re: Star Trek games?

I enjoyed my old NES Star Trek game (at least I recall doing so). Otherwise the only good one I ever played was the Elite Force series (1 was more compelling than 2). The Fallen looked good, but I don't think I ever got it to run properly.

My friends want to try the DAC, but based on track record (see up thread) I'd really like feedback or a demo first.

I believe it's XBLA first, no dates yet for PC/PSN.

I did. I think I've played (and still own) ALL of the Trek games. Even had a fairly fun one based on Star Trek V on 5.25 inch floppy.

Re: Star Trek games?

I tried the demo and I don't think it's that great. Graphics are fairly good, but the game itself is meh. The menus and music had my hopes up, but the game itself is flat. You don't even use half the buttons. Why couldn't I push A and have rear firing weapons? Why can''t it be 3D as well?

I hope the pay has at least ten Ben Franklin clones, otherwise you're being shorted. I figured it would be at least decent, but I won't even bother with the achievements on my personal tag, which is rare even on a shit game like this.
