Didn't Atari have the chance to bring the NES to America and passed? That would have to be considered.

Most of Atari's decisions from around 1981-present can be considered a giant blunder

Aside from picking up Ghostbusters and Riddick that is.

(I heart my 360 and use it way more than my PS3, but there are some obvious deficencies there. That said, yeah, Live still rocks and there are a dozen workarounds to both the hdd and wifi issues. But still, Red Ring? Microsoft, what the hell. Only they could find a way to port the BSOD to standalone hardware.)
Yeah, the RROD thing is pretty bad. Was that a known unresolved issue before release for the 360? Or was it discovered later? If it was a quality control issue I'm willing to call that something that was overlooked, as opposed to a bad design/strategy decision.
But yeah, I've replaced my 360 twice and might have to do it again cause it's too loud.

Apparently the OP thinks that the only way to purchase DLC is with a credit card....?

I'm disappointed the NeoGeo Pocket Color didn't take off as well here as in Asia - perfect joystick for fighting games (and such great games they were....) compared to the Gameboy (at the time - haven't tried anything after the Advance SP). Never even seen a WonderSwan (sp?) but apparently those had their moment as well.
