Slightly O/T, but I have been reading that starting next month all but 2-3 multiplayer modes will require both Legendary & Mythic, which is kinda bullshit if you ask me(and I even own them).

I'm not sure about the expanded campaign, but with the full price, I'd hope they added some kind of content. But then Halo will sell regardless.

Where was it announced ODST would be full retail? I read an article a couple weeks ago quoting several Bungie execs as saying it would be less. I think they said something like the game started as a 3-4 hour expansion pack, but had grown beyond that. They also hinted that there'd be more on the disc to add value, but who knows if they were just talking about multiplayer or something more substantial, like with what The Orange Box did.

I wouldn't count on those being legit just yet. The game is still at least 5 months away from release.

Nope, not at all. Just goes to show anything with Halo in the title is MS' bread n' butter. Heck, Halo Wars (console RTS) outsold the definitive FPS on the PS3 (in the US) Killzone 2... only 6 PS3 exclusives have outsold it lifetime in the US, and it has only been out what? 8 weeks? And Halo 3 has sold nearly as much as the top 6 exclusives on the PS3.
MS can skimp on exclusives when it has a Halo game coming out, but you can be sure there will be some anouncements at E3. Plus, who wants to compete against COD:MW2?

Dead Rising 2 is multiplatform isn't it? Has God of War 3 been confirmed for 2009?
The 360 does seem strangely lacking in the exclusives for this year. Not horribly surprising considering how few Microsoft-exclusive developers there are out there. So far it's been Star Ocean 4 and Halo Wars. BioShock 2 is multi too, right?

I don't think Alan Wake is likely for this year. Apparently the team is so small that the work is going very slowly. Still, I think 2010 will be put up or shut up for that game.
Mass Effect 2 is another game which I think was originally assumed to be going multiplatform due to EA purchasing Bioware. However, more recently I heard that Bioware just doesn't have the PS3 experienced staff in place to do a PS3 version in parallel with the 360 version. So if the PS3 version is going to be developed, it will have to be another EA team who does the port like what happened with Valve and the Orange Box.
I've also heard that Halo ODST will probably have a single player experience more in the 6-8 hour range.

Re: Where Are The 360 Exclusives For 2009?
I don't want to start a console wars discussion here, but this has been bothering me for some time. So far this year, it's been close to even with PS3 putting out Killzone 2 and 360 having Halo Wars. But for the rest of the year, PS3 is looking exclusives such as inFamous, Uncharted 2 : Among Thieves, Ratchet & Clank : Future 2, God Of War III, MAG and perhaps that DC Comics MMORPG as well and for the 360 we'll have Halo : ODST (which isn't even a full game apparently) and not much else. Maybe I'm missing something or MS is keeping things close to their vests for now, but it sure looks like a mismatch. Sure it would have been worse if Namco and Square had not reconsidered (wisely) and took Tekken 6 and FF XIII multiplatform. Still, I'm wondering where the 360's big exclusives will be coming from.
microsoft need to drop something big at E3 and fast and i don't want to hear another stupid multiplatform game like last year that was so embarrasing.
people are not going to buy your console in 2009 for multiplatform games microsoft don't be so stupid please!

Enjoy your crack pipe
.
You mean horrible multiplatform games like Fallout 3, which runs better on 360 and has DLC?
Why not if it's $200 cheaper and still sometimes gets the better version of multiplatform titles?

The PS3 does have a more promising albeit still somewhat unimpressive lineup (R&CF2 needs to be a huge improvement over R&CF1's "lets make this one interchangeable with the other games in the series.", God of War 3 is currently running that risk as well, though the graphical upgrade should at least help with that.)
I'm not a Halo fan (#1 was a breath of fresh air, despite being repetitive it executed the living/breathing world aspect brilliantly. The second was a bit too scattershot for my taste and the 3rd was just meh) and hope Microsoft finally finds a new killer app in the upcoming years (other than Gears, which I actually enjoy a great deal).

FFXIII was a pretty big shock at the last E3. Sure, it wasn't an exclusive announcement but it shows that Microsoft can keep something under their hat when they want to.

Really? As mentioned the only first party game/exclusive known is Halo Lite thus far. Seems pretty thin to me. I think they are ripe for announcing a 2-3 new games.

Agreed. Last year didn't we have Gears 2 getting announced at GDC, which kind of took the impact off of anything huge for Microsoft to reveal at E3. (Other than the FF announcement.) This year saw no such announcement, so the field is kind of wide open.

Oh and yeah, the 360 is a more logical choice for the multiconsole games for many folks out there due to the systems substantially lower pricetag, so it actually doesn't have to try quite as hard for exclusives.

Hopefully it turns out better than FF X-2 and Crisis Core.

I would be willing to put money on a major announcement (new IP or otherwise) at E3 for a Holiday release. 1st party or exclusive 3rd, I don't care.

Exclusive or not, announced or not, I'm just hoping for another fall like last year. I played so many freakin' games from September to January I had to take February off completely (except RB DLC). I never thought it would happen...burned out from video games, lol.
