I just caught it today and I want to play it now. There is a racing hole in my library since Burnout doesn't exist anymore. This looks like it could be a serious contender.

I'd agree, but I have to say that since they added the re-start option to Paradise, it feels a lot more like a Burnout game.

Corvin and thelwig14, I think you're both nuts. I thought Burnout Paradise was incredible, having put about 80hours into it.

I'll give Split Second a chance, but I didn't see any spectacular over the top wreckage. The cars still seemed very slick even though they crashed.

Burnout Paradise will be the last racing game I buy this generation. There's almost too much to do in that game.

They only showed one crash and they tore the shit out of it.

Seriously, you guys that gave up on Burnout Paradise last year really need to check it out after the past couple of updates (specifically, motorcycles and restart).

It's an amazing game.

As for the topic game...I've gotta say that I was fairly impressed with Pure, so this is probably worthwhile. I just don't think I'll bite.

I want to, but the taste it left in my mouth is so bad that I can't bring myself to re-buy it.

Yeah, Paradise really is a whole new game now (well, more like 1.5), but everything about it has been tweaked and overhauled where it barely resembles the original release.

I hated it initially as well...hated the whole idea of it...but since they added restart, and now that I know the city a bit, it's just amazing how good this game is!

I recently told my buddy "eroc" that I'd personally refund his money if he didn't like it. He jokingly tried to collect, but it was pretty hard to convince me when he was playing every damn night!

Pretty cool looking. I like the destructible environments idea.

I was a little worried when, at the beginning of the trailer with the Disney logo, I half expected the cars to have mouths and to start talking. I guess I have Disney bias.

I'm one of those people that gave up on Burnout Paradise, too. It just felt too big to me (odd, considering Fallout 3 felt too small to me!)
But, after all the comments about how it has gotten better, I'm going to play it all weekend

Looks like Q1 is no more. Amazon and Best Buy are both listing a May release date now. That increases my chances of picking up Blur though.

The demo is now out. It's... interesting for a racing game. The game is no Burnout:Paradise killer, though.

That's just Corvin. He has Burnout Paradise Derangement Syndrome.

Bottom line for me: This is a racing game, and I have too many other racing games already (Wipeout HD, Pure, Motorstorm, and Modnation coming soon).

Note that Paradise isn't on that list because racing is a very small part of what it's about.
