Game's challenging WITH GM You underestimate my lack of skill at gaming.
Enjoying the heck out of it, over 5 hours. Although I'm stuck at the area where you try to find the nuclearhead detonator.

Seven hours in, just beat Ulysses and entered the projector at the Mojave drive-in (Big Easy Blues or something like that?). Enjoying the heck out of this game.

Old World Blues ... and if it seems like the story just took a big tangent, you've just started a big DLC (and my favorite of the 4). Normally I would think that it seems you're entering this DLC too early (the game should be stating recommended levels within the quest log). But since you're playing god mode what does it matter

Yeah I had read the titles of the DLC and knew this was one of them. I'm like level 12 right now. It did say I could keep my stuff but wouldn't be allowed back until I completed it.
I knew Ulysses was one of the other DLC, Lonesome Road.

Re: Fallout New Vegas Announced
Well at least I got 7 hours out of this game!
I'm stuck and not even GM can help me. I talked to the three inter-hooked monitors (Dr. Klein?) and exited into what I believe is the forbidden zone and I went up into a big satellite and then back down, and I keep on being sent back to the original building (where the three talking monitors are) when I get too close to these towers. My vision blurs then blurs more then reset. I remember them mentioning the towers but I can't remember their names so I can't search how to beat them.
Meh, if you have GM you should be able to beat the game easily
What are those towers called? How do I get past them to the big scorpion and to Mobius? Thanks!

Another reason charging through with GM can cause problems. Just because you can carry everything and heal incessantly, that doesn't mean you have some good perks to help you out. OWB is recommended for level 15 and up.
I loved OWB, especially the robots.
Here's a walkthrough for your part.

I don't really care how people play their games. However, if you're going to just go through the motions instead of playing the game how the creators more or less intended, you might as well max your level and give yourself all of the perks.

I can get any item, it's not just invincibility
These are the towers I'm talking about (embedding doesn't work). I ended up going another way and I'm on the way to X8 research facility. I encountered that abandoned village and I'm investigating it now. But once I go back to the towers how to get through them? If I get close to them, I get blurrier and blurrier than back to 3-monitor guy.

I don't think I got to the Forbidden Zone yet, I think I'm in the Big MT.
I'm level 14 now

Never did play Vegas which is a shame but I do need to get back into Fallout 4. I let my grandson borrow it thinking he wouldn't like it but that was 4-5 weeks ago and he's in areas I never went in.

FWIW, I think all the "newer" Fallout games (FO3, FO:NV, FO4) are pretty easy on "normal" difficulty. If you're not good fast-twitch shooter action (like me), there's VATS (which almost feels like a cheat itself). If you like to do optional quests and explore, if anything you'll be overleveled (at least on normal difficulty) when you get the later stages of the game. And if that's still too hard, you can always crank down the difficulty level. Plus, these games are very forgiving concerning the save system (easy to save at any time, and frequent autosaves).
GatorDeb, look at the walkthrough. It's detailed enough you should be able to figure out where to go. It's been long enough that I don't remember the specific details about the gameplay, but I don't remember the game as having any "hopelessly stuck" moments. If you've been enjoying the game, look up how to get past where you are. Read the detailed information about the particular quest you are stuck on.

Well this is interesting, so I'm at the X-8 research facility and in one of the computers it said something about an item that disables force fields but only works inside the MT. Maybe I need that item before I can get to that section. I try to go on my own without walkthroughs as much as I can. Sadly I'm only over 8 hours in because work and homework are taking too much of my time

bump!!
Looking for a brand new ninety-minute video on how great this 10-year-old game is? I have just the thing for you!
Actually a very well-done analysis of the game and why it was such a marked improvement over Fallout 3. One of the things I remember about playing this in 2010 was how short the main quest really is, yet it's backed up with tons of side content.
So, yeah... Enjoy... all none of you who will actually watch it
