NPD Group: Wii Fit has outsold Halo 3

Wii Fit broke the 6 million sales mark, pushing it past Halo 3's 5.9 million copies sold. A fairly remarkable feat, considering Bungie's opus has been on the market 8 months longer than Wii Fit -- and for $30 cheaper, to boot.

Wow!
That's a great achievement, and yeah, it's officially $30 more expensive, but since there weren't a lot of units available, they were selling them like pancakes in ebay, craigslist, etc.

Is the Wii Fit available everywhere now?

I'm starting to see more just sitting on shelves at Best Buy or Target, but I'm sure that will vary based on location.

4 things that jump out to me:

- Surprisingly close #s on Street Fighter 4
- Killzone lower than I expected even for 2 days
- Nintendo games have LEGS (New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart Wii, Wii Play, Wii Fit in the top 10)
- Sony sold 600K consoles, which is plenty respectable

I assume the SFIV LE sales were also tracked separately? I'd think the PS3 LE was a lot more attractive, with the Ryu figure and the movie on Blu.

Ah, console bashing, it never gets old.

Yeah, the PS3 version was a tough cookie to get... I finally got one in the end, but it took me a little while to score one. Yeah, i went with PS3 version b/c the Ryu figure and the BD (easier to sell than the Xbox's contents). Also, the d-pad is better on the DS3. I didn't buy any of that super hyped SFIV gamepads. They were selling like hot cakes on eBay!

Yeah, Wii Fit, that's one odd ball, it's so weird... it doesn't really help you lose weight (people need get over this), it does so if you're embarrassed by the little animated Wii board saying you're fat

For WiiPlay, come on, that don't count, we know why people really buying that for!

Not exactly. They're charging British retailers more for the console due to the poor exchange rate between the Yen and the Pound.

Sony is now stopping shipments to South Korea because Japanese tourists were buying them all there.
