Has anybody purchased the new Battle Tanks game on the PSN? How good is it? I was thinking of getting it so my nephew and I can play it together.

Don't they each carry colors of the light spectrum?

Essentially. It won't work, but whatever they wanna try, I guess...

i'm lost here...

the cables that have the fun colors are just cables... the color doesn't indicate a different composition of the cable, they are just color coded so you plug the right one in the right spot.

I don't think there's really a "best" drive. It just has to be a 2.5" (laptop) SATA drive. 5400RPM is recommended to reduce heat, and there was little performance gain with 7200RPM. Western Digital Scorpio drives seem to be recommended, and I have one of those. Maybe check Newegg's user scores to get an idea of the reliability of the particular drive.

Get whatever suits your price/capacity needs. Although I have a 160GB drive that I bought last year, at this point I would get a 320GB drive, since they don't cost much more than smaller drives. If you need more space, get 500GB. I don't think 500GB is needed unless you're going to load it up with videos and music, and it seems like a lot of people stream media from a computer.

OR, you could get a solid state drive if you really want better performance. Come on, they're only like $600 or so. :)

I actually have two PS3's, one in my bedroom, one for the projector. Is there any way yet for the PS3s to recognize each other and to send game save files to each other? I've just been using a thumb drive to get the job done, but with homeshare being so convenient on iTunes 9, was wondering if anything like that existed...

No, unfortunately there's nothing like that.

I don't know how you did things in college, but here we don't usually put three things in one hole.

He's got an SDTV and was looking at the component cables because he "heard" one of the YPbPr cables carry the standard, composite video signal.

I'm not talking about the actual composition of the cables, rather the signal they're carrying.

If he were to just plug in the green cable, it would work fine...

if he wants to play in black and white. It's the cable that carries the luminance signal (no color).

Well, yeah, I guess I didn't consider that B&W was an acceptable option. So, I stand corrected :)

Cool, they're coming down. I'd be tempted if they let us install all games to the HDD, which would maximize the benefit.

PSN Europe is getting a free WipEout HD Fury dynamic theme today in their store. No word on whether we Yanks will get it as well....

I thought as long as you matched them at your two sources any cable would work.

yeah I downloaded it from the EU PSN .... unfortunately wasn't too impressed

they also got a LBP demo, Fat Princess demo (was announced but doesn't show up anywhere), FIFA 10 demo, and a couple Batman AA themes (Batman, Joker)

-ohbfrank-

If you have 3 video cables coming from your source (PS3) and going to a display that only has 1 input for video (yellow/composite), you can't exactly match them up.

I'm not talking about the labels on the cables.

Maybe, but in this case it's a proprietary connector at the console's end.

I left the red unplugged today while playing cod and sound worked just fine out of both channels. I messed with all the settings when I had the red in and nothing helped.

No way I'm playing in B&W lol. Thanks for the advice guys. Though now I'm just curious as to whether component cables would work. Doubt it, but this debate needs answers.

Sure. But if you run component cables from your PS3, none of them directly correlate to the yellow composite cable...if that makes sense.

So now this is weird. Decided out of curiosity to plug the audio cables back in. Works fine now. Wtf? I didn't change anything.

Also, I heard there was a Scavenger hunt in the Mall on Home for free items. I'll have to check it out later.
