Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Is it something with how the soft buttons are labeled in the software? The issue I've had with setting up the Harmony remote I got recently (670) is that the button mapping reference in the software is incorrect. I can't seem to program the top row (which is where the label for the activity or whatever goes). So, buttons 1 and 2 in the software are the middle row on the actual remote. It was easy to figure this out and adjust to it though.

Yeah, I don't have that problem either. It did take me some time to setup all the custom buttons, though, and some of the button labels are confusing.
I forget which Harmony I have, but when I setup the custom buttons, it sets them up per page. For the ones that don't transfer over, are there blanks? |

Netflix today announced a deal with Sony to add Netflix Streaming to Bravia Internet Video-capable TVs and older Bravia models through the Bravia Internet video link module. Sony joins Netflix hardware streaming partners Microsoft, Roku, LG, Samsung, TiVo, and Vizio. “Sony has been a world leader in consumer electronics for decades,” said Netflix Chief Executive Officer Reed Hastings. “We are proud to include Sony Electronics among our CE partners who continue to provide new and exciting ways for Netflix members to instantly watch movies and TV episodes in their living rooms on their TVs.” What was missing from this announcement? The PS3, due to an exclusive deal with Microsoft for the Xbox 360. |
Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
The last line says EXCLUSIVE deal with Microsoft, so how long is that deal? I'm sure it's basically a matter of flipping a switch for the PS3 to get it to work for them, they just need to get it "approved" from Netflix I would imagine.

This may be common knowledge, but I've tried searching around and couldn't come up with an answer: when selling a used PS3 system, would downloaded PSN games on the HD remain or do they disappear if/when you disable your PSN account?

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
^The site is extremely slow when adding to the cart or viewing it. It looks like they're getting hammered with orders.
Edit: well, after over half an hour, I finally managed to get the order through. BTW, Lego Indiana Jones is also cheap. About the NetFlix streaming, I don't think it's a matter of just flipping a switch. Streaming on the PC requires a Microsoft application to be downloaded; it's not like YouTube that just uses Flash. Sony would have to write a player app and add it to the OS, because obviously you can't just run Windows software on the PS3. |
Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Sonystyle is completely down. :(

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
I've searched and can't find a great answer: is there any difference between a game's normal edition and the greatest hits edition? (Specifically, Metal Gear Solid 4 is what I am looking to purchase.)

Just a sticker on the case and a cheaper price.
I just thought I'd mention that, because I know it matters to some collectors. |
Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Thanks for the responses. Aren't there other editions where patches, some content, etc. is added (isn't Fallout 3 supposed to be re-released in a couple months? Won't this have more (I know not "new") content than the previous disc? Is that a "Game of the Year" edition)?
I though the Burnout "Greatest Hits" did have some material/automatic downloads that was not on the original disc. Does it vary on a case by case basis? Thanks again. |

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
I'm getting the Nyko usb adapter so I can control Blu movies with my Harmony 659.
When I go to set it up, should I add the PS3 or the Nyko remote as the device? |
Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Add it as the Nyko Bluewave. Works perfectly.

I wonder if there are any games that include the same and we're not aware of it.

Castle Crashers coming to the PS3
Castle Crashers has been one of the bright lights on Xbox Live Arcade since it was released last August. The stylized side-scrolling brawler offered a winning mix of solid action, quirky charm, and four-player co-op play. Unfortunately, PlayStation 3 owners haven't been able to get in on the fun--until now. The Behemoth is taking the wraps off of Castle Crashers for the PlayStation 3 at Comic-Con today, and showing off the first playable version of the upcoming downloadable title. We paid the California-based developer a visit for a first look. http://comic-con.gamespot.com/story/...ers-first-look |
