I'm in the same situation. I'm concerned about my 60. But it's never really given me a reason to worry. Though the fan does seem to work overtime. I've also never had hardware failure on any console except my first Gamecube. Hell, I've still got a working Colecovision somewhere at my parents' house.

I had a PS1 die, but I didn't take the best care of it. Otherwise, yeah, I've been pretty lucky as well. I still have a SNES, an N64, a Dreamcast, a PS2, a Wii, and a PS3 hooked up, but I guess I've sold the rest.

Of course, it helps that I haven't owned an Xbox yet. ;)

my 60GB worked like a champ until 11:45 PM on october 6th, when it shut off.

No warnings at all?

You sending it in for repair? I assume you will given that it's a 60GB. I'm told that it's important to be very specific that you want YOUR console back, or you might get somebody else's 40GB or 80GB. The downside is that it will take a while.

Over the course of the night (not necessarily in order):
  • Can't find a vehicle, balled multiple times from the sky while on foot. Multiple respawns.
  • I was the reason for "Suicidal". Respawn.
  • Sniped from a high level. Respawn. Shoot sniper with a rocket launcher, I'm too far away and I can't aim. Sniped. Respawn. Shoot sniper with turret but hit with rocket launcher from sniper instead. Respawn. Jump into jeep to get away from sniper and round the corner only to be harassed by a Warhawk: flipped, shot, balled. Respawn.
  • Attempt to binocular a tank. Have him in my sights 4 times, can't figure out how to shoot (I was pressing the R1 instead of holding it). Shot by tank instead. Respawn. Blown up several more times shortly after spawning. Multiple respawns.
There were several other frustrations that night, but you get the idea.....

Easily the least fun I've had since we've started. :sad:

I own several on your list, Chew, and I'm sorry. I never purposefully single anybody out except for eroc, digi and possibly now Z. If any of you are EVER feeling frustrated in-game, especially by me, please say something. I'm ultimately more interested in everybody having fun than I am winning or losing (or especially balling Chew).

I'm sure my "Brett Farve" nonsense didn't help either...just trying to be funny...and failing. :(

Didn't you have the top score in one game, or was that the prior week?

If I'm the top score on anything but a knife match, it's usual due to one of two things:

1) Dumb luck (snagged the flag and nobody notices)
2) Somebody else did 90% of the work and I grab the flag when they get killed short of the goal.

Thanks flip! I'll definitely miss the game this week...was looking forward to providing Chew some air support. :(

I think Ofermod said something about wanting every other map to be DLC.

You, Chew and Flip at a minimum...Steve's been pretty reliable lately...Eroc should drop in...digi said he'd probably be back this week...R2 seems pretty reliable.

The only regulars who will be out are me and (pour one out for my homie) nic.

It should be just fine...hope you guys have a good time, and I'll be interested to hear whether my absence changes the dynamic much. Just keep digi and Z on opposite teams, and you should be fine.
