It was frustrating because it seemed like at any one point there were two or three people in the air, two or three people defending their flag, and one or two people making flag runs. During the first five minutes I kept trying to run some flags, but could never get into the base. I used the binocs to take out the missile turret once and almost got out of the base, then I did it again and it was flip, so he ended up TOW'ing me and I just said fuck it and spent the rest of the time dicking around with him. That match was quite literally unwinnable for us.

This little diatribe is EXACTLY why you need a mic...so you can say something BEFORE you give up and mess around or leave and pout.

I was a bit frustrated this map as well. At one point, Chew was in a tank with Flip whacking it with a wrench and somebody else in and out of the missile turret....and they STILL had two or three people left to grab our flag...and our Warhawks, and our tank. :grumble:

I wanted to TOW that base so bad I could taste it!

I wasn't pouting. Having a mic wouldn't have made a difference because I wouldn't have said anything anyway. I just had enough and wanted to take a break, and it didn't help that I really do not like Zones.

Take it up with Chew.

It was either Zones or Collection, and I thought the new guys would more easily understand Zones.

Don't kid yourself. We barely understand Warhawk - your language is totally alien. (Zones...Collection...Grinder :wtf: might as well be Swahili) ;)

Says the guy who is making up game modes that take two pages of text to explain.

I was reading those. The Mike Myers scenario could work in Warhawk, we should try it some time.

Modified from cruz's post:

- For this mode one person will be nominated to be Mike Myers; everyone else will be on the opposite team.
- 20-30 minute round
- There is no respawning during this mode; you get only one life so use it well!
- Mike Myers may only use a knife and pistol, no grenades. Vehicles TBD?
- Mike Myers must not move for the first 20 seconds of the match. This gives the victims 20 seconds to change teams and/or hide.
- Mike Myers cannot be killed until there is only one victim left alive.
- When there is one victim left standing that person may only try to stab Mike Myers (no guns).
- Whoever is the last man standing against Mike Myers will become Mike Myers in the next round.

Won't work.

The reason that works in CoD is that you can make a player physically faster than everybody else, so you have to hide from them. In Warhawk, you could pretty much just hang out in the open and run away. I'd also imagine that indoor environments and first-person add to the effect.

I am open to other creative ideas, but I think K&N and Vehicular Manslaughter have their own charms. Maybe we could use Hero Mode in some creative way???

Also bear in mind that a ton of the folks in Warhawk (Don, Hunter, Eroc, Sean, Lee, Shaoxen, and Teflon [should be on this week]) don't read the thread, so I have to manually explain this stuff.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

How about this?

Running Man

- Hero Mode
- Hero has to play K&N
- Everybody else can only attack the other team's Hero but can use any weapon
- Heroes cannot attack each other
- No vehicles (probably pick a map with none)

Ways to score:

- Kill the Hero
- K&N kill somebody as the Hero
- Survive the timer as the Hero

What I picture is having two angry mobs (teams) chasing Heroes, but randomly (when your Hero dies or survives the timer) somebody inside the mob turns into the Hero and has to go on the run.

The ideal map for this would be something with multiple levels to make it harder to tell on radar where the hero is...maybe something on Omega Factory.

This could be cool because 1) we never play Hero since it always leads to spawn camping and 2) we hardly ever play Omega Factory maps.

These kids today with their newfangled threads forget their roots. They don't show the proper respect. Imma make em an offer they can't refuse. Maybe if I had capitalized "Night" in the title...or added a (PS3) at the end...I coulda been a contenda.

Other games may get more posts in their thread, but Weekly Warhawk (bitches!) will double em up on players...believe it. :)

Requests for tomorrow? Thoughts on Running Man?

That's over a year and a half.

We get a little traffic on Mon and Tues, and a bit more after the games, but that's about it. No big deal...just amusing that much of the discussion has moved to the spin-off threads.

Forgot a funny moment from last week. I was doing my damndest to push somebody (I'm thinking Nic or Flip) off a cliff in my Warhawk, and they just refused to go. I surely could have just shot at them, but I was determined. I eventually got blown out of the sky, but that 15-20 seconds was pretty funny at the time. Go...damn you!

This might be the week to lose the zero-seconds spawn time.

I implemented that when we had fewer people to facilitate defense, but if we're going to get 12-16 people, I think five seconds to escape is pretty reasonable. I've noticed a trend where there's always a swarm of dudes around the flag, making it impossible to grab even if you kill a few of them, and I think it's frustrating some folks (flip?).

Thoughts on that????

Might be worth an experimentation. One trip I killed both you and chew only to have you both dancing on my corpse three steps from the base.

I have you and two others (new guys from work) without the DLC, so non-DLC.

Grinder K&N&VM at the end of the night maybe...it's a nice light way to wrap up a good night of Warhawkin'.
