Did you want to include Spire Shut-In for our no-warhawk CTF match? If it's not too difficult to change one of the maps in your rotation. Or perhaps pick a different map to play it on.

I think chess may of had the wrong name there for the Destroyed Capital CTF. We usually use King of the Hill for a TDM. It should be Spire Shut-In for CTF.

Ah, I see. I don't like the idea of Spire Shut-In for the no-warhawk game, but it's probably best. I just hate trying to drive a tank through all those trees and whatnot. Also, with no warhawks on that map we won't have binoculars to deal with.

I don't make mistakes.

King of the Hill is a fun CTF as long as Warhawks don't get spammed...thought it would be a nice change of pace.

I'll just quote that for possible future usage. :p

Alrighty then, Warhawk-free King of the Hill CTF.

Let tonight be a fair warning: If you mine anything other than vehicles you are driving, and I am one of your victims, I will get you back. Even if it's the next round, and you're on my team, and we're down two points to zero, and you're carrying their flag (nic). I will not hesitate to binoc your ass. ;)

by the way, it was a lot of fun. 3 suicide missions that I remember:

1. Mrs. Brian jumps into the back of my jeep as I was mining it. I told her, I don't think you want to be in this jeep. She did not get out so I started driving. BOOM!!!

2. Same map, I mine another jeep and as soon as I get to the crest of the hill, BOOM!!! Frizby and Lee were the victims, I didn't even see them.

3. On the island outpost map, Slider and Steve were dancing around on the bridge. I headed right for them, they didn't even see me coming, BOOM!!!

I was very happy to only receive one TOW and that was when we were up 3-0 and I didn't realize it. I asked someone to kill me so I would drop it. Although I do think the TOW may have been overkill.

I can sense frustration is starting to build within the ranks over the last couple Tuesdays.

chess: I think you need to better define what you consider "giving the new guy a break". I never went after him unless he was coming after me, and even then I typically only defended myself with a knife (thus the "can a knife guy run faster" comments we heard from him). During Installation, when we were up 2-0, I started only playing defense. That led to the first complaint. That's when I played defense with my knife. That led to the second complaint ("they're all defending the flag"). So then I just sat in a corner and jumped Flip-style for about 10 minutes. I don't understand what we're supposed to do? Not play offense or defense by driving around and avoiding everyone?

The usage of any of the "douchebaggery" weapons (TOW, Mines, Binocs, sniper) is obviously pissing somebody off every week. 1) Slider and his "fair warning" about following the mines rule (ironic given how he has used Warhawks and other weapons on a K&N lobby and has TOW'd during TOW bannings). 2) I think Flip has left the game early two weeks in a row, this time after getting annoyed at binocs.

It also seems like something about how we play has driven digi off for good.

I agree with the first point. I did not know what to do on that map. I ended up driving around in circles until they made it 3-2

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

My frustration is that my objective for the night overall, more than winning-losing, was to get Lee hooked on the game. He's an old friend and I'd like to play with him every week. He'd also be a great addition to the group.

I don't expect everybody to be working toward my "objective" at any given time, but when you see the new guy's name pop-up, just limit the weapons you use...or maybe pass up the kill entirely if he's not doing anything productive. If your team is stacked, the best players should play casual and be selective about their kills. BTW, "being selective" does not mean "hide on a mountaintop and only use binoculars". You can also feel free to let noobs get an objective...maybe take a flag...and then try to track them down in a way you're not usually comfortable with...maybe track them down solo in a jeep or something. Ultimately, you all know what's fun about the game, or you wouldn't be around. Just provide a few of those moments for the new guy.

Alternatively, I could just make sure he's on the stacked team half the time.

Lee has a background in FPS games, so he's probably not bad on foot and he'll learn fast, but he's still figuring out a lot of the basics (how to save a flag, how the radar works, which weapons to use when, etc.)

I do especially hate that flip has been leaving early, as he's always been part of the core group. And I'm probably a bit more of a bitch this week because every day is a 14+ hour day at work...so sorry about that.

At the end of that island outpost map I drove up to the mine spawn point, got out and grabbed them, and then I blew up. It showed your name and the mine logo, but you didn't suicide. Did you drive your jeep at me and jump out? I may not have seen you, or maybe you accidentally put one down there. I was already not having fun that round because it seemed like other people were getting mad about the score (and I was on the losing side).

1) Slider and his "fair warning" about following the mines rule (ironic given how he has used Warhawks and other weapons on a K&N lobby and has TOW'd during TOW bannings)
That's not fair at all. When I first came in I used the machine gun and Steve told me it was K&N so I stopped using it. I teased Steve with the binocs, but I never let them go off. I then got in the warhawk and start flying them around you guys, but I didn't start shooting any missiles until I was hit with a rocket launcher.

My TOW usage was purely reciprocal (except for Nic when he said someone could kill him and I thought it would be funny -- guess not). Every TOW I hit Flip with, he had hit me with first, I think that is fair usage, no?

I feel bad for Flip, I think he has been on the losing team every single round for the past few weeks, with the exception of only one or two maps. So I can understand his frustration, but that's just bad luck.

I have fun in these games regardless of what the score is, I used to care about who wins and losses, but I really don't anymore. It's fun for me either way, and I've even started trying to carry the flag and defend the flag. The only time I start to lose interest and stop having fun is when other people seem to care so much about the score that they get angry and malicious. That isn't fun for me anymore. And I was on the losing side multiple times last night.

Also, on the Archipelago map it was Z, Chess, Steve, Nic vs. Me, Chew, Flip, Mrs. Brian, and Lee (towards the end), and the score was 3-0 when the game ended. So, that kind of game playing went both ways. Like I said, I don't care about the score, but let's try and keep those kind of criticisms going even if that kind of game playing is happening on your own team. And I commend Chess for sitting out most of that round.

I drove my jeep into you, but I can't remember what happened. I did not throw any there.

My "ironic" comment wasn't in reference to last night. :)

Well, then, I'll accept the K&N violations, but I think I was pretty good at always directing those at Steve. ;) I still stand by my statement that I only use TOWs against people who use them first since the bannings, except for last night on Nic of course.

I don't think I done blow'd Lee up last night. If I did it was unintentional. I think I may have teamkilled him once. :)

I just checked out a little early last night -- no particular beef with anyone... well maybe Slider, but that's kind of a status quo. Generally when I get frustrated I stray from the point of the game and do whatever to release some stress... see Suicide rampages, Slider attacks, Slider TOW standoffs, etc. I was a bit peeved last night as there were a few maps in particular that I kept getting binoc'd. I can't fault anyone for this because nobody's douching it up intentionally, but man is that aggravating to get blasted three of four times in short order. The only map I really about lost my cookies was the CTF Archipelago with Z and chess on the same team both hanging out at the base almost the whole round. I think I may have been the only "Warhawker" on my team. I'd fly over, get the flag and get pummeled without air support. Only once did I actually make it near the center base with the flag and Z was sitting there in a tank. When I waited for someone else to get the flag the Z and chess tagteam hit 'em hard.

I try not to let anything bother me too much. I'm sure I douchebag in my own way some maps. Combination of being tired, not drunk and aggravated at the same time last night sent me packing a little early. I hold no grudges. But I am sticking to my 1 binoc = 1 TOW retribution theory.

I've got some shit to do beforehand so I'll try to make it back home in time. I have no idea why Wednesdays always prove so difficult for me to manage. I'm dying to play some more RDR multi. I also generally work Wednesday afternoons/evenings because I'm home with my daughter during the day so that contributes to the crunch. I only have like two hours to fit a whole day's worth of crap into.

It has become less enjoyable for me lately, primarily for the reason that Slider pointed out. Many times it seems like there is no way to make people happy in a game that is supposed to be competitive in nature and then there is a considerable amount of double standards when applying these rules and expectations even within the timespan of minutes, not even just across games. It just took the fun out of it for me to constantly be worrying about all of that. I am also generally of the same opinion as Slider and Chew in that I dont really care what the score is and even if I am getting tow'ed left and right while down 4-0 I can still find ways to entertain myself however it is frustrating when roles are switched and the other person gets sensitive about it.

I will likely be back at some point though, just need a little time off I think and I dont want my frustrations to hold back any new people coming into the game. Reading all of you bastards talking about RDR is making me want to get that though too so maybe I will see you guys in there at some point, or if anyone would get BFBC2 :)
