no, that was for slider...you posted before I could.

He was trying to push around my jeep, and I was driving like a scalded ape...I mean REALLY driving my ass off...powerslides, the whole deal.

I zipped through some trees, and I saw "slider suicide" pop up. I assume he either crashed into a tree, or even funnier...BALL'd himself.

I can't remember exactly, but he might of also been the one trying to sneak a Warhawk in through the mountain opening on the top level of our base during the island/dogfight map.

I turned around and rocket launched him. I think that's the closest I've been to a 'sploding Hawk on foot.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

You have to be aggressive when fighting Warhawks on foot...and always have a rocket launcher handy. Heck, I'd recommend spending a map or two just "hunting" warhawks.

I had a rocket launcher in my jeep when Slider was chasing me, and if he'd done any real damage, I was fully ready to hop out and give him what for. ;)

As it was, it was a pretty epic chase. I was even on two wheels a couple of times.

I also had a pretty good run on Grinder when I got aggrevated. I sidestepped digi's jeep and knifed him as he drove by at full speed...a one in a hundred shot...I grabbed the jeep, zipped over and grabbed the flag, planted it, went and grabbed another one, and ALMOST got a second one back before somebody sploded me. Then "somehow" flip ended up with the flag, and I spawn to see him running it the WRONG WAY!?!?!?

Flip, you know you have the flag right?

Uh....sure....well..............................................................................no.

If a Warhawk is devoting their entire attention to someone on foot, there's no way the Warhawk isn't winning that fight. It takes at least three locked-on shots from the launcher if the hawk is at full strength. That's an eternity.

maybe, except that it's only 2. If a warhawk is well armed and being aggressive, you're largely correct....BUT, if it's not, that first locked rocket will make them bug out, guaranteed.

the sniper rifle can be pretty effective as well.

That wasn't entirely my fault. Somebody had locked on to me and shot something, so I put the Warhawk into hyperdrive or whatever it's called, and accidentally smashed into the rock formation and blew up. <_<

I see...wish you could have seen it from my perspective. I was running like a cocka-roach and suddenly, you were just.............gone.

Because I'd just zipped into the trees, I thought maybe you had clipped one or something.

Hmmmm. I swear I've hit a Warhawk twice with the launcher and didn't get a 'splosion.

They may have grabbed some health in-between, or maybe one of your two didn't actually connect (chaff or dodge)....but it's 2...promise.

Got two of my games from Hastings (Wolverine and Prototype), but no Borderlands.

The good news is that the two games I got are complete and in good shape. Both disks had come off of their spindles, but were flawless. I love Blu-Rays just because of how much they open up the used market for somebody as anal retentive as me.

I'm kind of hoping B-lands comes tomorrow. I want to have a character that I play with my son (I'm thinking soldier) and another I play with you guys...so two separate games. Flip, any reason I can't do that? Anybody want to hook up Friday night or Saturday morning?

Sunday afternoon isn't good?

I can't make it Saturday, tonight should work.

If I get it today, let's do it!

Quiet night at home shooting critters sounds kind of nice.

So what's the schedule for you then? I'm on the forum plenty during work, obviously (:(), but don't check quite as much after work.

What time should I check this thread to see if you got it? We'll play at 7:00 if you do?

Sure...7 sounds good...I'm usually home by 530-600 CST.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

This game doesn't really sound like a Warhawk or Uncharted "set up your maps" type of thing. It almost looks like either I drop into your single-player game or vice versa? (flip hasn't posted since yesterday)

If that's the case, we'll have to set a character up beforehand?

I am not sure that I can play tonight. I know I cant at 7 and if I had any chance at all it wouldnt be until like 10, but even then it is doubtful. Maybe Sunday for me

Will miss dropping my balls on nic. :(

Hopefully Wiz will be back in this week though.

@ Chew, I really don't have much of an idea of how it works in BL as a practical matter. I assume we'll have to pick a character, but I don't think there's a ton of setup at the initial stages. But we'll sort it out...assuming I even get the game today.

<--- Dork.

I checked the mail when I got home, but I didn't think to ask my not-wife. She had grabbed the mail and put it in the bedroom. This morning she says "Oh...."

Mint copy of Borderlands in-hand. I think I'm gonna check it out a bit this morning.
