Can you get an Arcade given that it's an emergency case?

Just saying...

Smokin deal from SD:

Messenger Kit for Xbox 360 (includes PGR4 and 12 months of XBL) for $30

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Microsof...=1186005358451

I just did instore pickup to avoid shipping cost. This takes me through 2012 for XBL.

Chew 12-18-09 08:37 AM

Wow, great deal. Thanks.

I hope you guys all know that they posted the wrong picture and you may have to convince the store to sell you the item in the picture.

I've never even seen that bundle in the store. Has anyone tried to price match this at the store yet?

If you can find one and if it is the correct item, don't forget to pick up a Sherlock Holmes kit with the free movie ticket.

This is the wrong item BTW. Did anyone get what the picture showed up as? Cause the description didn't mention PGR4.

That is probably a good idea, but picking up a online item at CS at this time of year is hell at Best Buy. I did it last week and it took about a half hour and nearly got in a fight with another guy in line by asking to speak with a manager. I wont order anything for in-store pick up again until Feb.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

I went to the nearest store (it showed the item as available) and there was none around. It's gone from that page as well. I wonder if it was just a faulty link and they ment the messenger pad which is $29.99.

BTW: They put together some really shitty bundles at Best Buy. They manged to jack up a 360 bundle to over $600 by including three (!) extra controllers, the wireless adaptor, an HDMI cable and some crappy game. I feel really bad for the clueless folks who actually drop that sort of change on a game console for their grandkids because they don't know any better.

Bestbuy used the wrong picture. The sku on the page is for the messenger pad / headset combo. It looks like a lot of people were able to get their bestbuy to honor the mistake though. My store denied me.

Is the quick charge kit a good thing for the wireless controller?

how long does the battery keep a charge usually?

and will i see any indicator lights on the controller or XBOX to let me know the battery needs to be charged?

Honestly you should go with universal recharchable batteries. I use the Energizer one that comes with a plug in charger. That way you're not tied to Proprietary batteries. Then you can use the batteries for the 360 and other systems that have wireless controllers.

I use the Eneloop batteries from Sanyo. Those are excellent and last a long time even when not being used.

Score! Nabbed that Live kit a bit ago. Held up the ten deep line while the CSR tried to figure ou what was up.

I use the MS batteries. It's nice popping them on and/or leaving them on the charger and not messing with AA's. I've never had a problem with battery life like others seem to have.

I'm sure your were trying to be funny, however I'd like to clarify his statement. Most rechargable batteries lose a bit of their charge everyday. Within a few weeks of sitting, it is very likely they will have lost all of their charege. The Eneloops and the Rayovac Hybrids hold their charge much better. They can sit for months without losing much juice.

OldBoy 12-19-09 11:44 AM

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

but for those with the MS recharge kit, how long does the battery last and are there indicator lights for when batteries are losing charge?

The controller itself flashes when the batteries are getting low, regardless of battery type.

You're putting too much thought into this.

Agreed  and for the most part, I'd say many people that hang out on this forum are very analytical, and like discussion, etc, but man its even wearing us out... I'm not sure moving the discussion to this thread was a good idea, as many of us check this thread for useful info.

not really. just asking a simple question and wondering about the item. only thread to do it in. i've bought other rechargables, like energizer and don't like the charger for it or the battery life.

It's a battery, some last longer than others. If you don't like rechargeables, then buy regular ones. Or buy ones your familiar with and enjoy it.

well, i am not at all familiar with the XBOX rechargeable and just want to know from people who have it how they like it. i assume many do that frequent this thread.

i would rather have a reliable rechargeable and just drop it in the charger every once and a while and that's it...

thanks Michael, seemed to have missed your post.

and to know the controller is running low on battery life, it is the middle X button on the controller that continually blinks?

Yeah but that can also indicate an interruption in signal if I'm not mistaken. You can hit the Guide Buttom (middle X) and at the very top of the pop up window shows a battery status with 3-4 bars.

As mentioned earlier most Ni-MH batteries drain when not being used. I had energizer ones and they would only last a few days before being dead even if the controller was not used. The Eneloop ones can hold their charge for many months on the shelf and last pretty close to alkaline batteries in a 360 or Wii controller.
