If they could make this work so you're actually running or moving/throwing as a soccer player or quarterback I'd finally start picking up some sports games. Just think - spin moves, pump fakes, shakes, etc. Heck, maybe you could actually "aim" for an FPS and hit a button to reload and switch weapons. It could be great. If it's just moving people around to block balls - while neat - no thanks.

Running? Do most people play their videogames in a 2000 sqft. room?

If you are doing all this for sports games...why not just play the sport in real life...

I think you'd be alone in this. I don't want to have to move like LT2 (pre 2008) to finish a game like Madden, not to mention how the heck would you play defense? How would the game know where you're throwing the ball? Are you going to call over a friend to hit you when you get tackled?

That said, there are some cool things that could come out of this, I just don't see football/soccer games like this being all that popular.

Yeah, I'm not interested in sports games where I have to do all that moving. I already play basketball in real life and i'd hate to play that way in NBA 2K10.

There's still an overly archaic 100-friend limit on XBL, right?

I'm currently at 99 so I guess it's time to start trimming dead weight. 1st on the chopping block: the ex-wife's silver account ;)

You know why there's 100 friend limit? For matchmaking in Halo 2. Time to move on, Microsoft!

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

Seriously, can't they patch the OS to recognize that it's Halo 2 asking and only return 100 of the friends? Maybe even let you specify which of your friends are made know to Halo 2.

See, now is when I really need groups on my friends list so I can remember where everyone came from. I'd much rather drop random-x360a.org person that helped me with game X in the past than anyone from here.

Doesn't it still crack the top 10 most played Live games? I haven't played it in ages but I think I'd rather have that option to hop on and play than needing more than 99 friends. At least until they add some decent sorting options like nameable groups (Friends, Family, Co-Workers, DVDtalk, etc.)

Dude you have no idea the amount of hate the Halo 2 die-hards have for Halo 3 multiplayer.

If you're to believe Major's list, Borderlands hovers around 8 or 9. How is that possible when nearly everyone on my friends list plays it and 360voice has it at #1 for the last several weeks?

Me among them. Halo 2 multiplayer was far superior to Halo 3.

Doesn't the official list count silver accounts playing single player? Most likely those folks aren't signing up for 360Voice.

Michael Corvin 11-11-09 02:55 PM

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

Well, for the list you are looking at Borderlands would have only been out 6 days. I think hype for that grew after the early adopters praised it.

Looks like he broke out a separate Xbox Classics list putting Halo 2 at the top. So that could mean 25 people played it or 25k. There is no way to tell.

Actually he puts it out every week. Week 1 it was #9 and i thought that it was due to a half-week and/or slow start. But week 2 it was only #8 and I thought there was no way.

But, I don't know the metrics. It's possible it does include silver members connected to XBL. Not sure why they'd be precluded from 360voice, though.

I highly doubt that 360voice's users are a good representation of the overall population.

Glad it worked out for you. $30 for a year is such a good deal, I couldn't pass it up even though now I'm paid up until 2/2012. Did you go for the 13 month card of the 12 month + CoD MW2 shirt?

It probably isn't, but it is quick easy and useful for spotting trends. If a new game shows a very small number of users, you can bet that the multiplayer is dead for that game. Borderlands has been very popular consistantly on the site since release but has just shown a big dip the past two days, as if some other game suddenly took over everyone's attention.

Same here! Thanks Decker. I usually check CAG pretty good but just completely overlooked this deal.

I went with the 12 months and the free T-Shirt. But only XL sizes! Jeez, I know gamers have the fat-ass stereotype but c'mon...at least make it a L across the board and make the fat asses lose some weight.

I'm not a small guy (in between M & L shirt size) but the XLs look like a fucking tent.

Thanks Decker.

I got in on this as well. Got the 12 month and MW2 shirt. I didn't see any 13 month cards, but I was in a hurry and had to get in/out of there pretty quickly tonight. The SKU would not ring up for the cashier (they may not have been doing something right), so she just marked it as a price match or package deal or something. I may go back in tomorrow and pick up another one for that price.

I may use that one for the other 360 so the kid can play on our 2nd 360 and I can play on the other 360 and we can firefight with other folks online.

Its been since the original xbox that I actually played online vs other people.
You can have a guest online with you on the same 360 and both play online right? That would save me a second gold account on the other 360.

However, I really hate split screen, so it may be worth it just to put him on his own gold account and have my own gold account on the other 360, and just play on live with other folks that way. We do system link on FireFight now and that's pretty fun. My son occassionally has a friend over and they do split screen on one TV/360, and I get the other TV/360, and we do system link which is pretty cool.

I texted the deal over to a buddy that works for MS and he said this was cheaper than they were getting it from the Company store, which he had said was $30 + $6 shipping.

Um, the coupon says Limit 1. ;)
I don't know how they planned on enforcing that one except perhaps confiscating your phone or deleting your text message.

I agree that it's a pretty big XL shirt, but too large is still better than too small and I'm a M-L shirt also but some L sized t-shirts are completely unwearable for me after their first cycle in the washer and dryer.

That and in my case, they didn't actually use the SKU, so there is no record of that SKU going against my reward zone membership.

And that's the reason I didn't go for 2 in one transaction :D

I got the 12 month with t-shirt offer. No problems. Thanks Decker for the heads up. Great deal. I just hope the wrinkles come out. I didn't think a shirt could fit in such a small box.

What do the 13 month cards look like? All I saw was the 12 month ODST card and the 12 month card with Joust. Ended up grabbing the card with Joust.

Wash and dry the shirt before you wear it. The wrinkles come right out and it's not that big an XL, so it shouldn't look like a tent on you.

They look like this:http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA280_.jpg
But it looks like they're being phased out. Best Buy and Amazon only seem to be selling 12 month cards now.

Looks like Microsoft is permanently banning modded consoles from Live. Something to keep in mind if buying a used system, or something to note if selling.

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/article...-live-accounts

I'm surprised Microsoft didn't just brick the systems they find.

Those links are to the British Marketplace (check out the games' ratings). I don't know if it makes a difference, but I'd hate for someone to buy Altair's costume for $5 and not be able to have his Avatar wear it. Actually, if anyone spends $5 on Altair's costume, they deserve whatever happens to them after that.
