School me on some good Wii games...

Ok long story short, I am getting a Wii. However since I have played it twice, I really have no idea what to get for it.

Any games will do, I like all types.

Any recommendations?

What is Sports?

I searched Gamestop.com and quite a few items come up. Can you be a little more specific?

Wii Sports I would imagine, since he listed them as favorites.

I would also recommend No More Heroes and Excite Truck. Another vote for RE4 Wii edition, it's the first RE game that I thoroughly enjoyed (even tried the Gamecube version) playing through due specifically to the Wii controls.

Also, due to the excellent controls and fun online play, Medal of Honor Heroes 2.

A lot of the good ones are already listed, but if you like gun games House of the Dead 2 & 3 is a lot of fun (along with Ghost Squad, Umbrella Chronicles and look out for the upcoming Overkill).

Don't forget the myriad of great Gamecube games. Killer7, Eternal Darkness, Rogue Squadron are all very good.

RE4 is the only RE game I played all the way through and the only Wii game I haven't sold. Get it now.

I find that if you follow this list and don't get anything below a 7.5 score, you won't go wrong. And that goes for about any platform you can search on this site.

Re: School me on some good Wii games...

House of the Dead: Overkill is coming out this week and it's looking to be really fun if you're into Grindhouse movies and Zombies. I'm starting to hear some more rumblings about Mad World which comes out later this month I believe. I myself haven't really turned on my Wii in a couple of months so I'm getting excited that there are some 3rd party games that are catching my interest. I still need to buy Boom Blox.

I hate vBulletin's search function....because it never ever works.

My bad for posting this when it wasn't required.

de Blob! de Blob!! I can't believe no one's mentioned de Blob!

If you like fighting games, Smash Bros is fun. Maybe not the best fighting game ever invented, but the ability to play online against other humans makes up for the shortcomings.

Re: School me on some good Wii games...

Super Mario Galaxy(used) for $30 at Gamestop sale buy 2 get 1 free.

so if you buy 2 more games that cost around $30,you end up getting each game for $20 each.

Don't buy this game!!!

Not because it's a bad game. On the contrary, it's a very good game. But Nintendo is releasing the entire Metroid Prime trilogy on a single disc this fall -- hold off for that.

One disc? Those games must've been small on space size. Each one would have to be 3 gigs or something close to that. Or are they just going to compress the shit on all three games?

The first two are Gamecube ports which were distributed on mini-DVDs that held 1.5GB. I imagine that all three fit comfortably on a Wii disc.
