I can understand not liking something but calling them hacks that make forgettable music is naive and petty at best. Ten is probably one of the most seminal albums of the 90's and along with Nirvana, STP, Soundgarden & AIC helped usher in an entire new genre of music. That doesn't happen very often. Hell, modern artists are still mimicking Pearl Jam 15 years later. If that's what a hack is, sign me up.

I'm not even sure how to interpret the rest of your post especially the political-geico-mac commercial slant you are trying to make. There are definitely people interested in GnR, SRV, PJ and Jane's Addiction, certainly far more people than those in the "Bring on a full album by that Visions band!" camp. Bang Camaro is generally well received but would people honestly drop $15-$20 on a full album? I doubt it.

I believe a full Bang Camaro album would sell rather well. Definitely not as well as say, Ten, but enough to make it very profitable. Tons of people are familiar with them, and their shit is fun to play.

Agreed!

The comments by the wonder twins are rather perplexing...

I love Bang Camaro. That being said, I already have several of their songs and the idea on each one is roughly the same. Since anybody I play with isn't going to need more songs than an introduction, I wouldn't need to buy a full album either.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

I'd be all over BC at $10. Not sure about $15-$20.

I'm all for Chinese Democracy (wouldn't buy it) since maybe it'll smooth the way for Appetite like SoLA did for Dr. Feelgood. The guys mentioned that Slash came by the RB Lounge at Sundance, too.

The other good part of potentially getting CD is that it would let me off the hook with points for at least another week since I want SRV, JA, and Ten.

Awesome. F/LT is one of the most rewarding GSs because of those trills, descending triplet thingys, and that one zig zag that speeds up. Plus, the song is just fucking incredible.

Clearly, the problem here is that you're an Obamaliberal.

Were you drunk when you posted this? I've read it about 6 times now and still can't make heads or tails of it.

Really?

He is saying that he likes the band but all their songs sound similar to him. So having just a few cuts by them would be fine (instead of a whole album) unless he had some people over to play RB who were big fans and wanted him to buy more songs by them. (ie. He wouldn't be averse to owning more tracks but it isn't his cuppa).

That is my take on the post.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

You got half-way there, miyu.

I'm saying that I love them. But if I bought a full (hypothetical) album it would just be for me.

Anybody I play with doesn't know them and the 3 songs I already have do a good enough job of introducing them because all their songs have the same no-chorus gimmick.

My Bang Camaro $$$ are better spent on the songs outside the RB game, for myself anytime.

Okay, I exaggerated, that is what I took from it as well, it's just worded 'uniquely.'

Alright Corvin, i retract my explanation. Obviously pinata makes no sense. Probably due to his penchant for geico and mac music.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

Supposedly RB1 can't recognize enough notes per second to make that song FCable on RB1, whereas RBII can. Assuming that is true, it didn't really take 18 months.

You can strum HOPOs if you want to. He probably practiced enough to know that he could keep his rhythm better if he strummed every so often.
