Well I think the same individual score challengers will always dominate. So members dont even bother anymore.
Make some team challenges and hold people accountable for performing on their teams. Everyone who wants to be part of a team posts. Then divide the teams evenly somehow (how I dont know). You could have all guitar teams, all drums, all vocal, all bass, or a mix of any / all type for different challenges. |

I mean, on the last challenge, I didn't even play one song (because I couldn't pass it on hard), but that didn't stop me from submitting my meager score. I don't know how a "team-based" challenge would change things if we don't even have enough entrants in a solo challenge for one team. |

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Hey Shag, this weeks was just totally different, and odd, but cool at the same time. The scoring on it still seems off, like if one person had a 2 note streak and a score of 10,500, but someone else had a 3 note streak and a score of, lets say, 10,501 (or 10,499) who wins (lower score and stream i assume), it was just a strange one that I could see wouldnt gather as much interest.
Also, maybe not having them end on a Monday would help. There has been 3 times I have completed the challege, but forgot to upload the pics until I am at work on Monday (and then check the boards more frequently) and by then it was to late, so maybe move the closing date to a Wednesday maybe. Also, 2 weeks might not be a bad idea to help prolong these (so you dont run out of ideas), but I agree, these are some fun things to do and appreicate all the work you do for them. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I dunno - I personally think timing is everything. Mother's Day may have killed this week's challenge. I wouldn't read too much into it. Maybe on "holiday" weekends you'd get more response if you gave everyone an extra day or two to submit scores.
Just out of curiosity, Shag - I know you do similar challenges on another site. Did you get a similar (lack of) response this week? |

I'll tweak some things around and see if I can't garner some more interest with the next challenge, and go from there. Maybe I'll have to offer incentives (gift cards) to play. But then, I wouldn't say when I'm giving one out. Muhahaha! |

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I like the contests, though I have never entered them :( I came close a few times, but felt that my scores weren't good enough. I like the idea of picking 4 songs for a challenge each week, and everyone has to play a different instrument on a song, and never the same instrument twice...example:
Renegade-guitar Man in the Box-bass That's What you get-vocals War Pigs-drums People can play whatever instrument they want for whichever song, but can only post each instrument once, like above. Not everyone will pick the same instrument for each song, but the scoring should work out evenly. This way, even a shredder has to sing & drum, and a drummer has to weild his axe for a bit and sing, too. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I simply keep forgetting to do them, every single week.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
My issue is the whole taking a photo, pulling it off the camera, uploading to a hosting, then sending the link. A few times i have played the song and then just not taken the picture.

A little more info on the Rock Band / Pearl Jam collaboration:
Looks like it's going to be all live tracks. No word yet on whether it's going to be a retail pack (like Beatles or AC/DC) or just a track pack available as DLC. It's not coming till next year though. http://www.gamespot.com/news/6209500...dlines;title;3 https://www.pearljam.com/content/pea...ming-next-year |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
One less song tomorrow (this week).
http://www.rockband.com/forums/showt...65#post2403565 Due to a bug that came up late in testing during cert "Kids Don't Follow" by the Replacements will be delayed and not available this week. The team will be fixing the issue to make it available in the near future. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Probably making an obvious point here, but wish I could start playing "Less Than Zero" for a few bars before starting "Radio Radio". Anyway, I'll pick that one up plus Steely Dan. Maybe Ring Of Fire as well. Having a RB party this weekend so some fresh stuff would be welsome.

New stuff is updated in the DLC post.
No drum vids yet, but I'll put them up as soon as I see them. |

Are all the Wii tracks $2? Even the songs that have always been $1 on XBL/PSN, like Locksley.

The Spongebob tracks are the only $1 ones that I have seen in the Store. |

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Rascal Flatts is a must-buy in our house. Hopefully these come to the store sooner rather than later. We did buy that Gunpowder and Lead song that's most likely one of the missing 8. Not sure why that wouldn't be on this list.
Any chance of Garth Brooks? Also holding out for a Alt Rock / 90's Rock Track Pack for some of the songs I've resisted buying so far :fc: |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I'm not interested but that's pretty cool.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Also noticed that Toby Keith is obviously missing from that list. Not sure why the spilled the beans on 13 of 21 with several new announcements but left obvious, old stuff off :hscratch:
