New 10am Announcements for RB DLC on Fridays now...
Hey gang! Here's an early morning surprise for you... an announcement of the DLC arriving on the week of 2/10! We're probably going to be posting the DLC announcements around this time (10am EST) for the foreseeable future in an attempt to sync up with the European rockers waiting for the announcements, so get up early and keep your eyes peeled on Fridays from now on. This week we're releasing a 3 pack from The Fratellis, featuring tracks from their 2006 album Costello Music! Here's the track listing The Fratellis - Creeping Up the Back Stairs The Fratellis - Flathead The Fratellis - Henrietta All tracks are original master recordings. These tracks will be $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) a piece, or $5.49 (440 Microsoft Points) for the full 3 pack. You can find these songs in the Xbox Live Marketplace on Tues Feb 10th, and in the Playstation Store on Thurs Feb 12th. http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120564 |

Great news on the new update time. Not terribly familiar with the arch-nemeses of the Goonies.

Is this the first 3-track only week since Locksley (which wasn't supposed to be one)? |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I just listened to these 3 songs, I actually like them..but i like most modern rock and they all sound good. I really like Flathead, even has a solo that ends the song.... I will get the 3pack as I hope they release more modern rock

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
The Fratellis are a great choice -- they definitely deserve more press and airplay around these parts. I'm in for all three. I remember them being all over the radio in Dublin when I was there (shortly before the CD came out here) and topping the sales charts, so I guess I always think they're a bigger deal because that was my introduction.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I did the same, REL. I like the songs, but I'm not sure if I need them in Rock Band yet. This is going to be one of those packs that if a friend absolutely wants to play, I'll get. Otherwise I'll pass or wait for a sale.
It did remind me of Locksley and that's a good thing. Mad Dawg, according to my handy-dandy spreadsheet, All That Remains on 9/9/2008 was the last 3-pack only week, but two days later we got Charlene for free so I don't know if you want to consider that a 4-track week. Regardless, the week before that was the PAX 3-pack and Locksley the week before that. So you're right on point. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Gave 'em a listen. They're not really my style, but might be pretty fun to play. Count me in as being disappointed in just a 3-track week. I thought we were past that. :(
Way to stay on track for hitting 5,000 this year, eh? |

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Sweet, someone else in on the playlist action. Thanks Groucho.
I'd be down for Creepin up the Backstairs for 80 points, but probably not at 160. *edit - and a definite big  to the new announcement time. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
If Harmonix was going the modern rock route, they could have done better. Fratellis are a good band though and I will get Flathead for sure. Chelsea Dagger would have been a solid choice. Will have to see the videos for the other two.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Excited about this week's tracks only in the hope that they will open the door for similar UK bands that are unrepresented in RB - Franz Ferdinand (perfect opening for promoting their new album), the Cribs, and Bloc Party. Anyone else wishing for more UK dance rock in the game?

the 5000 comment was something taken out of context.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I will have to listen to the cuts when i get home.
Although more European rock makes me think i might be closer to my dream of some Pogues in Rock Band. |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
After Guns N' Roses premiered "Shackler's Revenge," its first new single in nine years, through last fall's release of Rock Band 2, the band has revealed that the multi-instrument music game will soon receive the rest of the Chinese Democracy album.
Guns N' Roses frontman and sole original member Axl Rose confirmed the news with Billboard. At the time of the interview, the downloadable content was slated to be released on February 28, but has since been postponed until the nebulous "spring." No pricing details were specified. Upon release, the songs are expected to be available for the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions of Rock Band and Rock Band 2, along with the Wii release of Rock Band 2. The track list, minus "Shackler's Revenge," follows: 1. "Chinese Democracy" 2. "Better" 3. "Street of Dreams" 4. "If the World" 5. "There Was a Time" 6. "Catcher in the Rye" 7. "Scraped" 8. "Riad n' the Bedouins" 9. "Sorry" 10. "I.R.S." 11. "Madagascar" 12. "This I Love" 13. "Prostitute" http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/57124 |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I'm in for the Fratelli's - I love that band so this is awesome news... I really would have loved "Everybody Know You Cried Last Night" or maybe a track from Here We Stand thrown in there, but I'll take it!

Come on Handsome Family! |
Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
That's an ok song. Interested in hearing the others. I do love how out-of-touch with the concept artists can be. "In stores Tuesday, February 24th" indeed.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I love how out of touch HMX is with trying to keep things under wraps.
