I'm not a fighting game fan at all, but I'm considering this for the arcade stick. Anybody here have it? Reviews? Games you use it on?

I picked it up when it was 49.99 at amazon back in nov....I am not a fan of Tekken, and already got rid of that game, but the stick seems good. I plan on using it on Street Fighter 4 when I finally get around to playing it. I hear the Street Fighter wired stick is better, but you can't beat the wireless...

I wonder if this stick would be good for a game like Tempest? Or any of the arcade games?

Not sure if it is worth it unless you plan on playing some fighting games, or maybe some of the old arcade games (need to try that out)

Can't speak for the wireless stick, but the wired ones at least work pretty well with games like 1942, Frogger and Time Pilot that had a similar set up in the arcades. I'd imagine Tempest would still suck. And Pac Man CE moves too fast for the joystick in my experience, but perhaps other more skilled players would like it more.

LBP and inFAMOUS are now available...and both recommended.

Uncharted would be a great third...or R&C if that's not your thing.

I used the 25off and Saver coupons at Gamestop to order God of War 3 ($45), MLB 10 ($37 used), and Monster Hunter Tri Controller pack ($41).

That's pretty much the main reason I bought it, though I am a fan of fighting games. I'm gonna try the stick as-is, but I'll probably just end up using the guts and making my own - something I've wanted to do for a while, and it looks like using the guts from this would be much easier than doing a controller hack.

I'm currently downloading Fable 2 from Games on Demand, apparently for free. Is there something I'm missing here?

I assume it's the first free part of the episodic version of the game. They've sold it that way for a while. The free download is 1.7 GB and the $19.99 version is 6.6 GB, so that should confirm that the free one is just the opening section of the game.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Some great deals at gamestop.com right now

25OFF -- 25% off $100 or more (new, used, pre-orders (no consoles)) thru April
ENT20 -- 20% off $49.99 or more (thru April 10)

Notable price drops:

Demons Souls $49.99 ($39.99 used)
Little Big Planet GOTY $29.99 ($24.99)
Resistance 2 $29.99 ($24.99)
Killzone 2 $29.99 ($24.99)

Borderlands $39.99 ($32.99)
Assassins Creed 2 $29.99 ($27.99)

Left 4 Dead 2 $39.99 ($32.99)
Darksiders $39.99 ($32.99)

Edge stacks with used games to knock an additional 10% off
(most games guarantee box and manual)

Remember, these work on Pre-orders (i.e. I nabbed Super Mario Galaxy 2 for $37.50)

Some SD posters are reporting Demon's Souls might be found at Target for $15 (huge YMMV), so maybe check there first.

It's been on their clearance list for ages, but it seems like a small percentage of stores ever even carried it. An electronics employee at my local store looked it up and said no store in Indianapolis ever received any copies.

so to use the 20%, the individual game has to be $49.99 or over, not the total of an order, correct?

Yeah, 20ENT is not working for me either on a single $59.99 item. I was kicking around the idea of pre-ordering GD:RB for $48 and the free export code (valued at $10). I'm kinda glad it's not working because now I don't have to entertain this idea anymore and I can go back to scoping a rental copy for the code.

Dammit!

Ed: Whew! Doesn't seem to be working on pre-orders and/or the GD:RB pre-order bonus (other offer). Crisis averted.

I haven't used it yet but it feels extremely comfortable, not 360 comfortable, but infinitely better than the DS design. R2/L2 feel like triggers and just by looking at the pic(clickable thumbnail) you can tell it has the concave analogs that the 360 sports and in the 360 ergonomic layout. The only thing that seems off is the R1/L1 buttons. They are spaced a bit far from R2/L2 which could be awkward depending on the game(I'm guessing).
Corvin, how's the controller working out? It's down to $14.99 now, and for that price I think I'm going to chance it. If it's even close to holding a 360 controller, it's worth it to me.

I just put GD:RB plus in my cart and it worked.

Edit: I just realized you were talking about the regular edition, and I got that to work also. If they're giving me the export code with a pre-order of the regular edition, is there anything from plus that i would need/want? I already have the 6 DLC tracks.

I liked it for God of War. I didn't like it for Shatter. Those are the only two games I've tried it with. Based on your last sentence I don't think you can go wrong for $15. Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to head back and get myself $10 back.

No, Plus seems redundant at Gamestop with the pre-order bonus. I got the code to work in the cart as well, but it's blocked at the final step of the checkout process.

It just let me check out... although I ordered the PS3 version. Dunno if that makes any difference. $50.87 after tax.
