The Black Friday exclusion was in the email Best Buy sent out last week altering GCU. In fact I think it was the only change made, or at least the only one anyone noticed.

Is it ok to change terms of service during the period of service for something you already paid for? This isn't like online gaming where we agree to terms and they can change them. We agreed to pay a set amount of money to receive specific benefits over a previously stated amount of time.

Odds are the fine print says something like 'Plan benefits subject to change at any time.' I'd bet the consumer's only remedy, if any, is potentially a prorated refund on the membership cost.

According to the terms of service you agreed to, yes:

Gamers Club Unlocked program may be modified or terminated by Best Buy at any time.
Most terms of service include such a clause. I think the only time you have any recourse is if you're in a contract with an early termination fee, like a cell phone plan. In that case, if they substantially change terms, you may have the right to terminate without paying the ETF. However, if you stay you're essentially accepting the new terms.

I'm ok with the new terms. Now, if they try to change the percentage of the discount then that will be another story entirely. I also don't like those blanket clauses they throw in there to allow then to change things as they see fit.

Too bad you can't stack three years of Xbox Live if you currently have any time left on your current subscription.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yeah, did they do something with the stacking subscriptions on XBL? Mine doesn't run out until April 2017, but it wouldn't even let me add a free month.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Is that so? I'm good until May 2017 currently. How low do you have to be to re-up?

The code I bought from NewEgg took me to 11/27/2018 without any issues.

Hmm, weird. It wouldn't let me do it the other day. Do you have a credit card linked to your account?

Could someone tell me why GTA V is still so expensive for the digital code (XB1) almost 2 years after release?

It remains a popular game, and plenty of people are willing to pay that much, so there's not a whole lot of incentive for a price drop. Physical copies can be had a lot cheaper.

That newegg code seems to be expired already. Didn't work for me.

Digital codes rarely drop in price, especially when you're buying a digital download from a retailer. You'll have better luck with a physical copy or waiting for a sale on XBL.

It's a neat sale format. Some fun little things to get you checking back daily.

They have a bundle sale on all the old D&D Goldbox era games: 22 games for $22. Buying that and doing a couple check-ins, and I earned the three bonus games for the sale already, including the Dreamfall season pass.

That's weird since it showed up on SlickDeals again today and in a Facebook ad that I saw.

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of The Phantom Pain selling for $19.99 at Gamestop.

I didn't see it mentioned here (found on CAG), but Toys R Us has Fallout 4 (XB1/PS4) on sale for $19.99 and Elder Scrolls Online for $9.99. At the beginning of the week they were tagged on the shelf, but TRU has since taken down the signage. They ring up at $39.99, and $29.99 but will drop to the advertised price when the cashier totals the transaction.

I got Fallout 4 at $30 a few weeks ago at Target.....$20 is outright stealing. A heck of a game with more stuff to see and do you'll ever have time for....
