Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Just as limited as all the other Halo collector editions I guess. I still have a few wasting space in the garage (but not this one).
Even the fallout pip boy was still coming into stock on Amazon, though not clearanced. |

That $250 Halo 5 collectors edition with the statue is down to $99 on Amazon. I guess it was pretty limited :)

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
That's really poor when so many people are getting a copy for Christmas either by itself or as part of a bundle (my nephew included). They could at least wait until a couple of weeks into the new year.

People getting the CE as a gift might prefer a physical disc and now they won't be able to trade their code for one?

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
That's an easy answer, cost. The whole reason they did that in the first place was because that set came out a week earlier than the game did. So people could use the codes to pre-load the game and play it the second it was out. And obviously, it's more cost effective to supply a code than a disc. Some people were pissed at that, paying $250 for a set that didn't even include a physical disc, so they caved in and did the limited time swap.
Now that this thing is on a fire sale 6 weeks later at a $150 discount, they would lose even more money if they were exchanging codes for discs (which in theory, people could trade in later if they wanted to), in turn, losing even more money on used game sales. |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
I still think that was one of the dumbest CE decisions since the cancelled-on-release-week Batmobile fiasco. You have people who want to spend extra money on a bunch of physical crap for the game, including a steelbook, but you don't think to put the game in there because you want to put it out a week early?

At this point, you could just consider the collector's edition for the value of the items inside, and buy a copy of the game separately. Buying the collector's edition plus a new disc game is $160 combined, so still a $90 discount. |

This...I understand why you don't do the program for a long long time, but shortly after Christmas due to gifting seems like a reasonable request with any fall release game.
On the code thing, I completely agree with you. |

Well, it obviously wasn't as good an idea as they thought, considering they're having to clearance out the remaining stock of a limited edition item.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
I am wondering if I still pull the trigger for him at $100 or if it will dip even more in the future. I would figure it would go at least to 75 bucks.
I read some people bitching about the massive price drop but as fujishig said, these always go on clearance. I don't see how anyone could really be surprised. |

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Flash sale at Best Buy for the next couple hours. $50 gift card with all XB1 bundles. Pretty good deal since it works on the Elite bundle as well.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Target has a pretty good deal going on. Buy two select games, and get a $50 gift card. Two of those games are the gold editions of Rainbow Six Siege and Assassin's Creed Syndicate (both on sale for $60 and come with season passes). So $120 and you get a $50 gift card.

Anyone still on the fence on Destiny: The Taken King...Amazon has it as the Gold Box Deal of the Day for the Legendary Edition at $29

Was at Best Buy today and noticed Rise Of The Tomb Raider is on sale for $40.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
I got GTAV (PS4) for $24 and MGS V for $20 from Jet.com. They have a $15 off code (apple15 or android15). Free shipping kicks in at $35 (still free if you discount down from it). Prices may have changed on MGS V, but you can use it on other items. I didn't know about the company until this deal, but since I got GTA in the mail today, I'm satisfied.

I've heard they ban accounts at 4 created, so fair warning if you've already created a few accounts. |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Wolf Among Us is $10 on all platforms at Best Buy right now. $8 after GCU.
Thinking about grabbing it since I missed the last PSN sale. |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
That Jet site is kinda weird. For some games they have multiple listings. Like Rise of the Tomb Raider. One for $45 and one for $60. And it's like that for multiple games. They also have the PS anniversary controller. One listing for $47 and one for $65.
