Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

General consensus is that SO is worth the $16 (w/ GCU), right? I'm tempted but not sure how much I want disc games in 2015.

Sunset Overdrive is definitely worth that.

Turns out I had a $5 RZ cert about to expire anyway. $11.97 after tax is very sweet.

And if you end up hating it, you'll easily get that back trading it in or reselling it.

I thought Sunset Overdrive was excellent, although the humor is hit or miss.

It's not my favorite, but it's certainly worth a purchase at that price.

Absolutely, but as fumanstan noted, the humor is hit or miss. Also, I'd say the controls and play style take a little more getting used to than with the average game, but it pays off in how fun it is once you get really good at them.

I almost ordered The Order on instinct at that price. Then I realized my gaming time is at its lowest point in many years and I'm already sitting on a dozen games I'd rather play, so I'll hold on adding to the pile of shame. I'm guessing it'll be $15 or less for Black Friday anyway.

SO wasn't my cup of tea, I actually preferred Second Son to it, but ignoring that I simply didn't like it: it's a reasonably well made and structured game that commits to doing what it tries to do.

It's one of those titles that tries to do something a little different from what we get every day, and that's commendable, especially on a big budget title.

The Order is also up as another Lightning Deal over at Amazon. $40 for the Collectors Edition and $75 for the Premium Edition.

It's crazy how low that game has sold for after being out for only a couple months now. It's pretty sad actually, because it's not THAT bad of a game. Just zero replay-ability. It's almost guaranteed it will hit $10 by Black Friday.

The game is like 7 hours long, that's about a week for me (or a year if I lose interest!)

For those who have a local Fry's and are signed up for the daily promo codes, today's includes $25 of XBL credit for $18. Should be good through Sunday.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

New games added to the Best Buy GCU $10 pre-order bonus list:

Battleborn
Rainbow Six Siege
Mad Max
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Tom Clancy's The Division
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I'm actually surprised by this. With the list getting very thin and the GCU price drop, I assumed they were phasing out this program.

Well, I guess you just saved yourself some money and you didn't even have to switch your car insurance.

Anyone with a GameStop nearby that has drive club in stock for $19.99? I would be greatful if someone would grab it for me and ship it my way.

Mine are sold out. If an option for you, Best Buy will price match GS. I think Target and Walmart do as well.
