What Games Did You Get For Christmas?

I know it's not Christmas yet but there are some folks like me who will be celebrating Christmas early or at multiple homes.

I only asked for one game and that was Dead Space, 360 or PS3. So I hope I get that one. The kids are getting COD:WAW (360), Lego Batman (360), Viva Pinata:TIP (360) and Little Big Planet (PS3). I don't think we are getting any Wii games this year.

Nothing. Although I did end up getting the Guitar Hero World Tour, so maybe that counts as a Christmas present to myself

I know that I'm not getting any games for Christmas but I got some gift certificates that I'll use to get either Castlevania or Chrono Trigger for the DS.

My oldest is 14. He also wanted Fable II and Fallout 3. I figured this was least offensive of the 3.

ratings are subjective, ultimately it's up to the parents to know what their kids can and cannot play.

Nice...for a moment I thought edstein's kids were like 4-7. 14 should be okay IMO. I look forward to playing games with my kids some day. (don't have any right now)

I didn't ask for any games this Christmas. We bought my sister-in-law a Nintendo DS and Brain Age. And my mother-in-law got her a couple of other cheap games.

My kids are 6 & 8 now, but they have played the Xbox/360 since they were 2, including Halo 2 & 3, COD's, Dead Rising, Bioshock, etc... They play Halo 3 almost daily, and they forge their own maps, play matchmaking, etc... I get some 'bad parenting' bashing on here but if you met my kids, you'd understand. They understand that they are just playing a game, and they can differentiate between gaming fiction & reality, and I believe that gaming has drastically enhanced their eye-hand coordination & problem solving. My oldest (8) forges Halo maps that i'd never be able to make. Both kids are honor roll students and perfect attendance for the second year in a row. I watch over them when they play and we monitor heavily when they have a headset on. We also use the games to get them to do their chores...'you can't play if your room isn't clean' type stuff.

Oh yeah,, and for the kids this year:

GH:WT
COD:WaW
Viva Pinata
Viva Pinata Party Animals
Star Wars: Force Unleashed
New headsets
A new wireless controller
Mario Sluggers
Warioware-I don't even know why I bother.

Nada for me, but GH: Aerosmith and a DS w/a bunch of games (New Super Mario, LEGO: Batman, Spongebob, Tetris, Brain Age, Mario Kart, etc.) for my six-year old. (We're traveling for 13 ours on the 26th, so wanted him to have a handheld -- and upgrade from his Leapster -- with sweet games to pass the time.)

Guitar Hero: World Tour (Wii) for my wife (shhhh...don't tell!). Guitar Hero, Avatar and something else for our nephew. The only games I want that we don't have haven't gotten great reviews so I'm content to wait for them to show up used and cheaper.

I'm giving my sisters Scene It: Box Office Smash (360), High School Musical 3: Dance Off (wii) and Singstar: Country (ps2) (however with a broken PS3, she won't be getting much use out of that right away). I didn't ask for any video games this year because I bought a ton during a sweet trade in promo last month.

A bit too much honestly. I bought Persona 4, Persona 3 FES, Prince of Persia, Tecmo Bowl Kick Off, Boom Blox and Mass Effect. Not to mention about $30 I spent on iPod Touch games.

My wife bought herself a nice stack of DS games and we got my son and daughter several games as well. We went rather heavy on the video games this year, but there were a lot of good sales this year.

Bought my daughter a Wii and a few games (I don't want to mention). I don't wait long enough to get games I want as gifts. I buy them myself as they come out.

Rock Band 2 Bundle. TRUS Deal of the year.

... and a lot of sales: Orange Box, Heavenly Sword, Left 4 Dead, Saints Row 2, GH:Aerosmith and I guess that's it.
And I just ordered a Little Sister figurine from the 2K Store.
