Reverse Sheep Round Four: Playstation — Join us now!

Round 4: Playstation Reverse Sheep

A short game where you try to out-think other forum posters.

Rules:
  • You want to give the answer that you think will be given least often by other people. For example, if the question is "Name a game that has Mario in it", a terrible answer would probably be Super Mario Bros. A good answer would probably be Dr. Mario.
  • You get one point for every person that gives the same answer as you, including yourself. For example, if you and ten other people said Super Mario Bros, all eleven of you would get 11 points. No points are given if you are the only person to say an answer.
  • New! There are lightning rounds (marked by the !!!). In these, answers count double. Wrong answers are still one point above the most common answer.
  • Lowest score wins.
  • No using Google, Gamefaqs, Wikipedia, etc if you don't have to. Try to remain moral in this (i.e. don't use them to cheat).
  • Private message me your answers. Do not post them in this thread or tell anyone else.
  • To make it easier for me to score the results, please list your answers one per line and don't number the items.
  • Incorrect answers in reverse sheep get the number of points for the answer with the most votes + 1, making it worse than giving the worst correct answer.
  • Answers are due by Thursday, Dec 11th at 8PM EST. Answers will be revealed the following day during business hours (to give you all something to do).

Remember, you want the answer that you think nobody will give!

Questions:

  1. !!! Playstation consoles have come in a lot of different colors, shapes, and editions. Name a model that was released in the US (or can natively play US games). (Don't overthink this one. I'm not looking for chipset numbers.)

  2. Name a Sony ad, promotion or campaign that has generated significant controversy this decade. (I'm defining "controversy" as more than just "sparked some discussion on the IGN boards.")

  3. Name a Metal Gear game released on a Playstation system.

  4. Name a Playstation-exclusive series that has been released on multiple Sony systems, but only Sony systems. (Little Big Planet doesn't count because it's not a series. Metal Gear and Final Fantasy don't count because they have been on Nintendo and Microsoft consoles. If there's been a mobile phone or PC version, that's OK.)

  5. Name a game that uses SIXAXIS motion controls (even if sparingly).

  6. Name a game that requires or benefits from the Playstation Eye or EyeToy.

  7. !!! Name a a car brand (car make) that has appeared in the Gran Turismo series.

  8. Name a fighting series which has had multiple games appear on Sony systems. (It's OK if those games, or other games in the series, were on Nintendo, Sega, or Microsoft consoles.)

  9. Name a game featured or shown in Sony's much-ridiculed 2006 E3 presentation. (You get a -3 bonus if you can also name one of the ridiculed catch-phrases).

  10. Name one of the driveable vehicles in Twisted Metal or Twisted Metal 2. (If you don't know the name, simply describe it: i.e. the ice cream truck).

  11. Name the year you first purchased or owned Sony hardware. If you never have, write that in.

  12. Name a gang/criminal group in Grand Theft Auto III or Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

  13. Name one of the skaters from the first four Tony Hawk's Pro Skater titles. (Unlockable characters are OK too, just as long as they were unlockable on a Playstation.)

  14. !!! Name a music game requiring a special controller (mic, guitar, drums) released in the US for any Playstation system.

  15. Name a winter sports game that has appeared on any Playstation system.

  16. !!! Name a video game character that has only ever appeared on Playstation systems.

Answers are due by Thursday, Dec 11th at 8PM EST

Once again to clarify: when I mean exclusive, I mean exclusive between all the consoles and handhelds. I'm not counting the PC or Mac, web flash games, or mobile games.

Yikes, at first glance I don't think I know at least 5 of these.

  • What exactly does this mean? As I noted, I know about 5 of them. Can I use Google for the other 10? That seems a little unfair to the people who do know all 15, but only know a single answer to each one, so don't have a chance to do the whole "let me figure out what I think others will say and say something different."

I just had a moment of inspiration: Since we're on the honor system anyway, why not put people on the honor system to tell you, for each question, whether or not they used Google, Wikipedia, etc. (maybe by putting an asterisk by the answer). Then you can assess a penalty (I would suggest 2 points apiece) for each answer. That way, people can use Google as much or as little as they feel they need to.

Yeah, that seems weird. This should either be played the way it was before (no searching what so ever) or just say it's allowed for everyone.

For #9, I don't get +3 for an incorrect catch phrase, right?

I'm out for this round, I can't answer at least half of these.

    Well, how about this?

There's 16 questions. I can add another one and then we drop the two highest (non-lightning round) scores. The lightning round answers seem, to me, to be the easiest and broadest.

    Does that work?

Screw changing the rules. People can guess if they want to play. I don't know half of 'em but I'm playing anyway.

    *edit - what's a Shee?

Is a car brand the same as the make (i.e. ford, honda, etc.)?

I wound up submitting answers using the rules I proposed: I put an asterisk by the ones I googled. Bus, if you decide Googling is forbidden, just count those as wrong answers for me.

Nope. When I say something is exclusive I mean it has been on one of these:

    Playstation
    PS2
    PS3
    PSP

    but not one of these:

    NES/SNES/N64/GC
    Xbox/360
    Game Boy/GBA/DS/etc
    Sega Master System/Genesis/Dreamcast

It could've been ported to PC, Mac, arcades, mobile phones, etc. I would still count it as Playstation-exclusive.

Not impossible or anything, just harder for me. I mean, Twisted Metal is a little old and it was from a time in my life I didn't play games.

I got through so anyone can

Sent mine, didn't know a lot of the questions so a handful of guesses and blank answers. This was much harder for me then the others

That was much harder for me that the MS one. Hopefully I didn't give too many wrong answers.
