360 extended warranty from Mirosoft
Did anyone buy the extended warranty from Microsoft for their 360. I think it was like $60 for 2 more years that included everything and just not the RROD.

I did not. I still have just under 2 years on my RROD with the Zephyr (elite) hardware.
With the recent price drops and sales/bundles, Jasper units shipping, having the largest hard drive, and online DRM transfer process, I don't see the point of covering the current hardware for that kind of coin.
The things are cheap enough and easy enough to migrate to new hardware now. Plus each new version is going to be more stable than the last.

I bought one with my original launch unit, but haven't yet with the Arcade I just replaced it with a couple months back. I'm covered for 3 years (RROD) and by then we should have $99 360s. The only wildcard is general hardware issues that fall into that one year period. Having an extra two years on top of that is nice.
When did you buy your unit?

I bought my elite in Nov 07 to replace my other 360 that failed with other hardware issues. Since I was pissed that my first unit wasn’t under warranty, I purchased the warranty through Microsoft to cover the additional hardware for a total of 3 years.
OK, so here we are a little over a year later and my elite is having problems again. So I go online to MS website to put in a request and it says my warranty has expired. So I call them and explain everything and they tell me they have do not sell extended warranties and have no idea what I’m talking about. So I do some searching and find my credit card statement from a year ago with the charge from Microsoft on there. Call MS again and again they still tell me they do not sell extended warranties and show nothing on my account for paying for anything extra. I have called three times now and talked to multiple people and keep getting “disconnected”
Do you guys have any ideas? Solutions?

Well, this thread has taken a drastic turn. Why not just say all that in the first place?
You cannot take no for an answer. You paid for a product and you have the documentation to prove it. You need to not stop at the person who answers the phone. Get their supervisor on the phone. Get to billing. Get somewhere.

really? That's weird. When I bought my extended warranty, I got some sort of letter in the mail confirming my warranty and telling me how long it's good for.

On top of that, when I got my 360 serviced two months ago, they added three more months on top of my already standing extended warranty.

Yeah, I didn't get anything in the mail. I just had the charge on my credit card.
I tried calling again this weekend. After waiting for 45 mins they came back and said they were going to research it some more and call me back. I think everything will work out eventually but this is ridiculous. I paid for this thing so I wouldn't have to worry about sending this thing in for repairs. And now it seems like it's more trouble than it's worth. I'll update you guys again when I find out more. Thanks again for the responses.

I just got my Zephyr back from the shop. That makes 2x repairs for me. Called 18004myxbox and asked for the extended warranty. They asked me for my bank name and said that they were mailing me the 2yr contract?
Oh well, lets see what happens.

Re: 360 extended warranty from Mirosoft
I bought the extra warranty as well a few years back, and received a copy in the mail, but I can't find the freakin' thing. As I just got the RROD, it is covered since they extended the warranty period for that. It's more of an annoyance that I can't find the contract now, but online, it says that I don't have a valid warranty.
If I did get the 2 year warranty, is it two years in total, or is it added to the 1 year that comes with it? IIRC, I thought that it was 2 years in total, since it covered extras that the standard warranty that comes with it didn't cover. Can anyone confirm?

Checking Your Current Warranty Status
You can log into xbox.com with your account information from Passport. Under "My Xbox", click "Support". There's a feature called Console Management and they'll show you right there if your 360 is under warranty or not (mine wasn't, but after RRoD repair it is again until 4.3.09).

haha, I forgot to update everyone on my awesome situation...
So I called two more times after that. Neither of the calls went anywhere and they kept transfering me back and forth between hardware and billing depts.
So for my last act of desperation, I filed a complaint with the BBB. We'll see how that goes.
Oh, and for anyone who else got the extended warranty and their paperwork came in the mail, does it have some different phone #'s or contact information if you have any questions?

Final update
So a couple days after I filed the BBB claim, I got a call from someone over at corp Microsoft. He took down a bunch of my info and said he would work on getting everything corrected. About a week later, I got a call back from him and he said everything was good. I checked online and they extended it though 2010, so they basically gave me an extra year on my two year warranty. I wish I didn't have to go though all the bullshit, but I finally got everything worked out. Just thought I would share.
