Sure I missed a few things (claymores, stinger, 1887's), but to tell you the truth, I was able to play just as well with the "lower leveled" weapons.

This is the key, the weapons have certain strong and weak points each, but they do not improve anyone's game overall. People think they do, but they don't. Some weapons have characteristics that 'fit' various styles of play better, but they don't improve your game.

Would I miss my akimbo rangers? Yes. Could I play just as well with a shotgun second and learn a few skills in the process? Yes.

Prestige mode develops your skill sets in the game. Using more weapons does this, using other perks, etc. It makes you think about your game more, which will always improve the way you play.

As was already said about COD4, I went like level 4 prestige, then did the golden weapons for most groups. I stayed there at level 4 with golden weapons.

I'm going prestige as soon as I get level 70 on this one.

Wasn't there a glitch before where people are like Prestiged five times over?

Just finished up the single player last night. Was very fun but having never played COD4 I was a bit confused. Spoilerized just in case
Spoiler:
why did the Lance Henrickson character kill the two SAS guys and try to kill the other two? Was he trying to claim retrieving that box for his own unit or was he someone connected with Makarov and the attack on the US?
Seemed a bit out of left field for me but maybe it's because I never played COD4.

Dead men tell no tales.

That's been around so long because it really works.

Finished the game today on normal. Took a little over 8 hours. It was a good time. I have not checked out the special opps parts yet.

Really wasn't a fan of the multiplayer until I discovered the scavenger perk!

Anyone have or going to try to get the SitRep pro perk? It's so tedious. I have all the other pro perks unlocked, so I'm going to try.

Yeah. I have been running it on two classes just to kind of finish it. I actually don't mind the perk itself but i read what the pro version does and it seems very not worth the effort.

I've been working on SitRep as well since I don't absolutely have to have any of the other 3rd slot perks enabled. What irks me is that I'll often see claymores glowing through walls and such but have no way to actually get to them to shoot them. It doesn't seem like I get credit for disarming them with grenades or by doing the old walk up and then run backwards trick.

Hopefully for future generations of MW they give a real incentive to Prestige... maybe a unique weapon or killstreak reward (ie maybe they could have held back the "nuke" reward for those who Prestige). It doesn't have to be over the top, but it should be more than a badge that has zero impact on your play.

Not me. I'd rather not go through all that trouble for a weapon I won't be able to get without hundreds of hours of time. I think a special badge is incentive enough to those who want to do it.

Another customizable slot was simple enough to sell me.

I do wish that you could have custom killstreaks to go with custom classes.

I absolutely agree. It seems like an odd feature to not have.

I think it'd be awesome if prestiging unlocked a 4th perk slot that you could fill with anything you wanted. Or maybe allow you to have a custom class that could carry two primary weapons. It seems like there's a lot they could do with it that would make it more rewarding, without giving too crazy of an advantage to people who'd prestiged.

A fourth perk slot that could be filled with another tier two perk would be way too much.

Last thing we need is people running around with Danger Close and Stopping Power.

I don't know. In my playing experience, the perks are fun and some of them will slightly change the way I play, but none of them provide a game-changing benefit. I've completed the challenges for all of them except Last Stand up to at least level 5 and there haven't been any that have made me significantly better or worse. I can't think of a 4-perk combo that would either make me feel like I had a huge advantage or that would be overly frustrating to run up against.

I think if used wisely, they could provide it though. I find the scavenger perk to be a great example. If you can find a nice spot on certain maps and lay claymores down, there's almost nothing the enemy can do to get to you.

This is #1 on my wishlist. I'd love to switch-up my perks for different classes.

I'm still at 67, and haven't played in more than a week. With all the good games coming out in the next few months, I am starting to wonder if I should just trade this in while I can get high value.

I didn't really have any interest in prestige.

I guess I'm just thinking in terms of FFA, since that's the main mode I play. In that, you'd have to have a line of sight on some part of the board to get enough kills to win a match. And if you have a line of sight, someone can get you with a sniper, grenade or rpg. At least in FFA, some of my favorite spots on the maps are the really defensible ones, because there's almost always someone there. There are quite a few places I always lob a grenade at as I run by, just because it'll get me a kill half the time I do it.

I've been playing TDM lately and it's hilarious and amazing how stubborn some people can be. I use the Scavenger perk and hangout in popular spots with a claymore guarding the entrance... 8 times out of 10 I'll blow up a guy trying to come in the room I'm in and then use Scavenger to grab another claymore and blow him up again :) Most of my longer killstreaks are a result of some stubborn guy... I had a 21-0 match yesterday thanks, in large part, to this method.

I like to use this strategy too, but some times the enemy doesn't drop a resupply. Does that happen to anyone else?

Yeah, that's happened to me... not sure why. Sometimes the reload falls farther from the body than you'd expect too.
